Probably about 3-4. Next year is a strong draft. McCartin, Goddard would have genuine claims to being top 5 picks as would Wright and even Clem Smith.

Thanks tigs. Any standouts ala Jack Martin or Jaeger O'Meara like?
edit: As in, most likely would have gone pick 1?

Would go 1 over Boyd? I don't think so. But those 4 probably all go ahead of Kelly the likely 2nd pick this year. I think Smith could be the best of them, but he's smallish and has a bit of tidying up to do in his game but he's an exceptional talent. The one I really like whose more likely to be in our range as a speedy utility is Jarrod Pickett.

I don't know much about Clem Smith, just know that he's going to be the potential no.1 pick. Must be seriously good with his short stature. What are his traits?

Quick, evasive, tough as nails, likes to hurt people kind of like Byron Pickett and I think his skills are good but he could be better. Has a real x-factor about him which often goes with the no.1 guys like O'Meara/Martin.

Dumont could be a quality acquisition, may be a bit of a reach yet we have shown in the past we are willing to stray from the draft communities opinions and back our systems, has a lot of tools to work with. FJ Pick written all over him.

I reckon he'll be a steal if he goes fairly late

Not sure where else to put this but, is Cyril's cousin (?) worth a look (not at pick 1) but a selection somewhere by RFC ??

Tigers recruiting staff heading to South Australia early next week for final round of interviews/catch up with potential draftees.
Tambling and Graham

Is Dayle Garlett a chance at pick 12 or is he too much of a risk that early?

IMO i wouldn't take him at 12 ... better mids to take that high ... what i got from his highlight vid was although he is full of tricks and is a sml fwd, has plenty of upside ect, the kid can't mark for shit. I know as a sml/med fwd its not his primary job but he would need to be able to do it at some point.

In saying that he had a lot of intercepts which he showed that he can follow up on and create a fwd play, but wouldn't warrant 12 IMO ... late 2nd rd or early 3rd if a club is going to take a chance on him.

Just my oppion though - happy to be proven wrong as he can be exciting.

I agree. I've said before I don't think he's as good as made out on BF. His stats look good because he cherry picks a number of goals, he's not a lightning quick guy like a Jetta or Rioli nor does he use the footy as well as made out on here. He's a good kick without being elite. He has no defensive side to his game. The amount of times I've watched him just stand and watch the oppo run it out is silly. Finally he's a bit soft. That's without getting into off-field.

We need the best inside mid available, whoever that is. We don't want to have our stars like Dusty, Lids and Cotch having to go in and win it themselves. We'd much rather them on the outside having time and space with the ball.

Matt Crouch seems to fit that bill?

Would prefer not to get him.

Not pretending to be an arm chair expert, but going by the highlights, if we can land any of Lennon, Bontempelli, Salem or Dunstan, we have done exceptionally.

I am leaning towards Dunstan.

Dunstan is one I hope we look at if the top options are gone. As much as I'd like someone with some pace to add to our midfield, you can't beat quality. One thing when I was watching his highlight package was that he's the type of player that a highlight package leaves you underwhelmed but it was actually one of the better ones.

Just watched some vids on AFL.com.(Yes I know they only show the good stuff).
Salem-I'd be more than happy with.Conca with better footskills.
Acres-If we miss on Salem,Arcres would be my next choice.

Side note:
Had a look at Willy Rioli.Smaller version of Relton Roberts.

What definition of "smaller" did you use?

What other inside mid options are in this draft?

At our pick any of Freeman, Dunstan, Dumont could be available. I'd probably avoid Dumont. Seems a bit meh to me. Hasn't really done much to excite me. Dunstan and Freeman I'd be happy with. Or a combo mid in Acres, Salem and maybe Aish could be there if the homesick rumours are true. I think the only team that will take him before us are Collingwood. Hopefully they have to downgrade 10 to 20 with GWS in the Shaw-Adams deal because GWS won't take him and I don't think Pies will take him at 6.
