No chance. Pretty sure the club has even said they will take best mid. I like McCarthy and I'd take him over a few guys in the top 10 but there will be better guys at 12.

Surely not with Maric, Hampson already there. Id take a young ruck with our 3rd or 4th rounder.

Second pick - Young devaloping ruckman/ Garlett
Third pick - Chris Cain/young dev. ruckman.

Dees are all over Salem. We need them to take Freeman for us to get him. Collingwood will take Scharenberg or Lennon depending on who brisbane takes. Our best chance to get Scharnberg or Lennon appears to be if Lions go tall and pick McCarthy

Lennon did not test as well as others at the draft camp as he lacked speed and endurance, in the long term you would like to see him playing a rotation between Midfield/Half Forward. I hope FJ takes into great consideration this, yes, he may have sublime skills yet the doubts over his ability to develop and play midfield are apparent.

Got my doubts over this as well. I wonder what kind of player the club sees him ending up as. He did play a few games through the midfield in TAC I believe and averaged something like 28 touches, got 37ish in one IIRC so he can rack them up no doubt

Vlastuin had the same knocks last year. You can build a tank. Speed testing was a concern but he plays quicker than that. I think he will eventually make that transition.

have seen him tear games apart at lower levels from the middle, whether he does this on the big stage is a different matter though of course
