I've got a feeling that Lennon and Salem will be off the table.

Freeman v Jones discussion

Jones: looks like he'd kill to win the footy. A couple of preseasons in the gym and he could be a very effective inside mid. Doesn't look to have the outside hurt factor the best mids have but should compliment our mostly attacking mids and make us tougher to play against. From highlights I love the look of his agility and willingness to take the game on. His professionalism also looks to be a big plus. Not enamoured with his kicking though but if his role is to be the man on the inside of the pack to give Cotch a much needed chop out perhaps not the biggest concern. Think it will take him time to become a regular though.

Freeman: upside upside upside. Pace is breathtaking. He looks to be a bit of an in between though. Not a true inside or outside mid. Not a noted goal kicker and not a reliably damaging kick. He will need to do some real learning to avoid just being a Matt White upgrade. Where will he play. I think he will be developed in the mould of Luke Shuey but he might also just end up being Matt White.

Who suits best. I'd say Jones. Speed is great. It's exciting but it's not everything. I think we need speed more in our backline than midfield or forward line. Forward of centre we need good kicks. But we also need hardness around the ball. Cotch, Vlastuin, Jones and Conca are a terrific inside quartet. Lids, Dusty, Ellis are smooth outside mids. Probably need one more gut runner in that mix which is perhaps where Salem could have been fantastic.

That's my opinion from the very limited knowledge I have. thought?

Would be amazing but Collingwood were seen in deep discussions with him today. I can't see them not using Pick 10 at least on him.

I'm actually starting to warm to Freeman. I'd prefer Lennon but Freeman seems to have a xfactor with his speed

Lennon was at Westpac on Friday and they loved him. They'll use 10 on of the two. If it's Salem then we will likely end up with Jones. If it's Lennon then we get Salem.

Interstate teams won't go near him, he's part of a tight knit family here. That rules out 5/10 picks before us. Dees love him but prefer Freeman and Pies are a huge chance to take him as well.

Look I only go off highlights but from what I have seen Jones looks to be an absolute SHOCKING KICK.

It's always a worry when you only avg 3.5 kicks a game and 7 handballs, but particularly worrying when the highlights effectivley show just about every kick you had in the champs and over half miss the target.

STAY AWAY from the limited footage I have seen.

The guy that oozes class and is a great size + finds the footy looks to be BLAKE ACRES.

I hope to god we are looking at him...would be wrapt if we take him as he looks better than plenty of others going earlier. If Carlton get him I will munt.
