Not that we have much success during trade week but who is a player on collingwoods list that you would trade for a first round pick or at least a second round pick and a promising youngster? It seems that Collingwood is trying to go down a similar path to Hawthorne a few years back so their focus is on bringing in higher picks. Make them genuine trades that has value going either way.

we got a few options although not sure whether other teams will want them. guy richards to a club like carlton who need a ruckman, ryan lonie because he doesn't get games and although he can be useful, he has a fair few replacements.

not much success?! i hope that is sarcasm!
i dont think we could handle anymore young players on our list at the moment anyway! i think we have enough, i wouldnt make getting good picks a priority! i think getting a ruck that will dominate in a couple of years is more important

Egan and Rusling are certainly great trade bait, but we have to be certain in the result. Rusling is a keeper except he is also bait. He is,worth a priority pick (18ish). To be traded for a 1st round, you need to be a superstar. We need Rusling though.

Egan easily has more value than Rusling. No club in their right mind is going to spend an 18th overall pick on a guy who's been injured more often than not, and who's incredibly one-dimensional. You are never, ever going to get fair value for a player with a bad injury record. If he was to be dealt I suspect it would be for a 3rd round pick at best.

Neither Egan or Rusling are worth a first round pick. Second round at best. Rusling worth more because he has more potential. Egan would be seen by outside clubs as a soft outside player, albeit who can provide flashes of brilliance. There are plenty of those types of players in the league. I think clubs would even think twice about giving up even a 3rd round pick for him. High picks in the draft are becoming more and more valuable each year as more emphasis is placed on recruiting. Some people really overrate our own and what other teams would be willing to give up for them.

Rusling is not worth #18. He's played 11 matches in three years. He's kicked nine goals and averaged less than five disposals. Perhaps the most relevant stat with Rusling is that he's done his shoulder twice.

When we drafted Rusling, using a second round pick in a weakish draft, he was seen as a bit of a smokey. Since then he has done nothing -- nothing -- to elevate his draft value. That's not to say he can't play, but rather to say he hasn't demonstrated it on the field, which is ultimately what counts.

I would be stoked if we could get #18, but I can't see it happening.

No one would give us a first round pick for both Egan and Rusling or a second round pick for either. At a push maybe a second round pick for both depending where in the second round and how strong the draft is perceived to be. Put one with Maxwell and our second round pick and you might be talking something worthwhile. Maybe Maxwell and one of Rusling or Egan and our first round pick might get you an upgraded first round pick and that is worth considering. There are supposed to be some good ruck prospects in the draft.

Disagree with that - I think we could definitely get a 2nd round pick for Rusling if he were to return in a few weeks and show some ability. Egan would have drawn a 2nd round pick if not for his injury as well, and still might be capable of it.

You're underestimating how much teams are willing to give in trade week if they decide they want a player.

Look at how crazy teams were going over Jordan Russell last year

Buckley was at collingwood before he went to brisbane and that is a fact. So what success have we had in the last 6 or 7 years. No one will trade with us and in 2004 we traded a player and pick seven for pick 10, what was all that about. You cannot say that we have had recent success with trades.
