Devastating for him as by all reports he had a huge pre-season. Club should explore all options in order to get him back this year because otherwise it might be career over :(

Ok, maybe the thread title is misleading. He has damages his ACL, and will have scans. Didnt mean to sound like it was season over. If he was walking off the ground hopefully it isnt a long term injury.

Oh you're kidding.
Will be a massive blow to the forward line plans. I'm guessing the MC saw him as a crucial cog to the new look forward line.

You can walk off with ACL

Unfortunately, this may be the end of his career. His contract expires end of 2010

Lets not write him off yet. Lets just wish him goodluck for the scans and hope its not a season thing. Ideally 3-4 weeks would be a good result, but even 10 could see him back mid-season. Lets just hope its not season over.

Do we know what knee it was?

Will be his second recon I believe.
Same knee as his first reco.
You have to be kidding me!
There was footage of him actually walking off the ground. Didn't seem that serious at the time.
They hurt like hell for about 5-10 mins then not much, but unless there is meniscus damage as well usually walking is fine but a bit sore.

I have seen ammo's start to run the boundary line after coming off thinking that they have just "jarred" the knee, only to go down like a sack of spuds the first time they twist.

Best case scenario is its only a partial tear, but reading the look on Rattens face when he said it, they don't need the scan......it's gone......and so maybe is Brad Fisher.

Had played well up till then. I was thinking he'd wound the clock back a couple of years, his marks were sticking, kicked (albeit a behind) off one step from 50m...........very sad.:(

Yah Ratten mentioned it in his Press Conference. Usually those articles take 2 or 3 hours to appear. Hopefully its just a small injury so theres no need for a article on it.

Fair enough. As soon as the siren went, I grabbed the dog and went for a walk. Didn't wait to see the conference, although I thought Ten would leave the game straight away. Pretty shattering news for Fisher, given the preseason he has had to date.

Not that I am doubting what you are saying BIB, but neither the carltonfc or afl.com have Fisher down having a knee injury, and there was no report during the game, other than the time he actually went off the ground.
Ratts said it at the end of the press conference.

how unlucky is that
whether you like him or not, to go through a full pre season, nevertheless the best one you;ve ever had, and go down in the NAB cup, devestating!
