Just relax dude, we know you don't believe it. You don't need to convince people why you think a certain way, we value your opinion like a unique snow flake.

The question is does it show one ounce of football knowledge?

If so..please point it out. Stop dancing around the point and actually discuss the point?

Argue this...travelling interstate and KNOWING you would be missing so many in an exhibition game....but this is the best time for us to do an intense training schedule that will benefit us later in the season. You cant miss a week for starters...and travelling completely stuffs your recovery also. How is any of that in any tangible basic way football smart and logical?

If they did their season training schedule at the beginning of the season (which I'd hope they would), why would they have KNOWN that they would have as many in the Tribute Match as they did?
Also, if they did this so that it would have the most benefit at the end of the season, why would they cancel that just because we played in the wet against Richmond? Are you suggesting they should have altered their schedule after the game was actually wet? When do they then make that week up? Do all teams wait for fine weather games to schedule in their hard training sessions?

We looked fresh against carlton because we had an 8 day break as opposed to a six day break the previous week. We also look fresher because after a delayed start our pre season from months ago is actually starting to kick in now. If you look in relative terms to last season round 6 to 4 weeks later starting preseason round 10 this year...doesnt that make more sense? After winning a flag we are going to tamper with the training schedule so drastically?

Yes, the 8 day break would have contributed, no question.
However, you say that what JJ is suggesting is a drastic tamper with what happened last year. Do you know what happened last year? Perhaps last year they had these harder training sessions 4 weeks ahead of where we're having them now, and the same progression is happening, just a little later due to the later finish to the season last year.

Its Not because we just trained very hard and all of a sudden we start bursting out of our skin as a result. The OP actually makes no sense for this reason. If the hard training was for later in the season...why did we jump out of our skins on Saturday Night. That sort of hard training takes time for it to actually take effect...I mean thats the point being made that its for later in the season? Its not logical any way you look at it.

That's not what he's suggesting. No where did he say that they played better on Saturday because they've finished their schedule. He was giving reason why some have looked flat, why the Pies game in particular was a bad one, and why we should be pleased with 9-1.
The reasons you stated (8 day break etc) are the ones why we played better this week.

They are my points. Feel free to discuss them. All I will do is just repeat myself. Stop attacking me and discuss the argument. I dont mind a few comments that are abusive...but you guys arent actually addressing the topic at all.

Plenty of people have addressed the argument, yet you refuse to listen. And yes, you do repeat yourself, often. Which fails to convince people to your side of the argument.

I'm starting to think it might best if I stop posting and have a self enforced holiday from BF ................. I only post when I've got something to add which I think will be of interest (generally that is the case).

Looking at the last 2 posts I started on Cats loading period and Mooney being out of the line-up I feel a bit like the bloke who pressed the button on Hiroshima ..........

I'm starting to get the feeling with this site that inane dribble might be the order of the day rather than trying to be informative if I have access to people inside the club (which WAG seems to have a real problem with.

Unlike WAG (who counters other people's statements with aggressive retorts) I have never stated that my stuff was personal opinion ........ I did go to lengths instead to point out that it was factual and sourced from those who would know what's going on inside the club. Nothing I posted was made out to be "my opinion" ........... it's as simple as that. I think WAG might have overlooked our democratic right to have an opinion.

Agree bro, liked your post and your previous one regarding Mooney. The discussion here seems to be one of not trusting the club at this point, I think that's where the problem lies.

WAG seems to not trust certain parts of the club due to their handling of news on issues like injuries and our standard of play.

As I said, didn't take your post any other way. Though I would admit that trust in someone's opinion runs both ways. Like the post on Mooney, it may take a few weeks here to value the statement. I mean we hear a fair bit of drivel from the Gumpster, so I guess some have the right to protect what they think and believe.

I hope you really are right and the club fires up on all cylinders and please keep the posts coming, I'd rather your comment over some others.

Thanks - appreciate the comments.

As I said - I don't post alot, but when I hear some news or get anything I'm able to share I'll definately share it with you guys.

I think we're well placed ....... 9-1 start > a great 2nd half draw > only one interstate trip in the latter part of the season > Ottens has rested his body for 10 weeks (will be crucial come finals) and we've added some depth by playing guys like West - Mumford - Gamble.

JJ, no need to go anywhere mate.

As I said, plenty of people here are interested in hearing this kind of stuff so please keep it coming.

Anyone who can't handle it and can't behave in a reasonable way will be (and has been) dealt with by the mods.

Keep it up. :thumbsu:

wow, things got interesting in here. No real reason to doubt what has been stated by the OP, very clever planning by a coach who knows that his team will feature prominently come finals time. The cats were very flat against us and this goes a long way to explaining why. Just a question for cats fans, do you think if Geelong weren't coming to the end of the heavy training block that they would've beaten us, or would the match just have been a closer affair?

No one could answer that with any certainty.

I can only say that when both teams are going at their best, I don't think there's 86 points between them in either direction.

i feel that collingwood is probably our biggest threat in the premiership race this year, as the hawks are probably still a year off IMO. i'd like to think that we would have beaten you, but heavy training or not does not justify the way we played that night, nor the margin we lost by. could go all cliche' and say it was the loss we had to have but everyone knows that is bullshite.

red card for WAG, lol no idea wat started that rampage as everyone else has agreed they respect and enjoy jumping jacks contribution...so dont take a 'self-imposed' break JJ stay on!

Games v Collingwood are always hard to win.

Jumping Jack - just keep the discussion going. Ignoring posters who only post to be antisocial or for the "fun of stirring an argument" is the only way for sane discussion to continue. Work around them.

Its great to have a forum like this.

Personally I think that the hawks are ready this year, time will tell if they are up to it. I also like the Doggies and Sydney this season, i think those 3 teams will provide the main challenge to you.

Collingwood have been very patchy this year, and our previous 2 matches shouldn't be allowed to gloss over that fact. Hopefully we are playing good footy when it matters this year.

Back in your box Didak:p

I think that the same could be said about the hawks after losing to the bulldogs.
A reminder: Do not take the doggies lightly.

Where did the rest of this thread go?

I don't see why it needed to be deleted...

I agree! Damn, I spent a fair while replying to a WAG post that discussed the issue at hand, contained no abuse or anything sinister, and it was deleted.

If that's the way considered and deliberate thoughts are dealt with here, that's a sure-fire way of making sure we just limit our forum to cliches and emoticons!

Its not BF policy to discuss why posters get carded.

Apologies to Cat in Sydney and others whose posts where deleted (I've restored yours CIS), but when a flaming war starts its best to stay out if you want your posts to remain.

WAG is always posting slabs of shizen in a general derogatory tone to all and sundry...was just surprised that he finally got carded for it.

Not too wory Forssy!
Mine got 'scratched out' as well.
was very well written too methinks..............but obviously not that well written........

More often than not I think it's what's not written rather than what is that defines the quality of the post (and the poster).

JJ didn't state that he's/she's an insider...but reading the OP you should be thinking as much.

Credibility is earned. Lack of credibility is likewise earned.

Stick around JJ. Your insider info seems much better than Forrests.:D

Agree whole heartedly! The reason I doubted JJ's info about Mooney's late withdrawal was because I thought JJ was just Forrrest posting under an alias, especially when he called me a flog. :o Guess it turned out he was spot on with that too. :p Boy, have I got egg on my face now after doubting you JJ, and for that I apologise.

Don't know if your source would appreciate you posting this info online, but it sure is an interesting read. I agree with what someone else said though. Would be good if you did post future info like that in the scratching post, away from any potential enemy spies. ;)
