He will be remembered for his non existent kicking and handballing ability. Basically, the guy couldnt dispose of the ball to save himself. He couldn't hit the side of a barn!!!! Please tell me ONE absolute highlight in Duncans career? Please tell me how he ever won us a game? He kept Nathan Buckley down to 18 disposals one or twice. So what. Do you remember the celebrations after duncan kicked his first ever goal after about 100 games? Embarrasing!!!! And he played in the midfield most of his time.

Can someone please explain to me how the hell duncan kellaway ever managed to get thru the ranks and play AFL football? Has there ever been a guy with worse skills play AFL football???

You no doubt think I'm being harsh and I probably am but I'm sick and tired of some of us keeping the blinkers on and accepting mediocrity. The guy was a hack and the fact frawley held him in such high regard shows why we finished on the bottom of the ladder and kicked 16 goals or more only twice in the last 6 years.

Pathetic.

I would think that most teams would kill for a Kellaway at his best. One of the most valuable players in the league at the moment is Brett Kirk and he is only a wannabe 'glove'. To know that an opponent's star player will be ineffective is a great advantage and weapon for a coach to posess.

While we are all entitled to our opinions, I am a little surprised (in fact astonished) that Kellaway can be called a hack while posters are seriously discussing the merits of recruiting an Ackland or Knobel.

Kellaway never scragged his opponent. He beat them by judgement, his ability to read the play and a better ability to win the ball.

Finally, I would like to see a 'clangers' list to see who out of Bowden, Chaffey, Zantuck, Buckley or Kellaway was the most efficient with the ball. My money is on Duncan!

fair enough. you remember him like that if you want. i agree that the way forward is with skilled tough players not just one of those attributes so shall we stop butting heads on this one and agree to disagree? i dont want players of his skill in the side now and we cant go back and change him now. he gave everything he had to the side so i would prefer to remember him in good light. bagging him does nothing in my most humble of opinions. i understand your thinking and i agree in a sense that we can not have room on our list for players who cant hit a target. OK?

Dont no-one go baggin DK here other wise my Momma will bust a cap in ya asses!

He's a champ, gave his all, and deserved a better send off than circumstances provided.

Any team would've taken Duncan while he was performing.. Plus he has killer initials ;)

That's absolutely fair enough Darth and I can never question his courage or his dedication to the richmond cause. I'm only questioning his overall ability. We're all entitled to our opinions.

If someone came to me now and said "Here's another ducan Kellaway" I'd quickly say thanks but no thanks. What would you say considering we're screaming for some real talent in this team?

Ferris. He is NOT a champ. Micheal Voss is a champ. Kellaway is nowhere near micheal voss. Yes he did give his all, no question about that. Giving your all does not make you a champ. Winning awards and helping your side play finals makes you a champ IMO.

yeah i would probly turn them down too, however mostly because of our current situation. a team without such deplorable skill level already might think differently. whatever. i'm getting sick of this argument.

Isnt this the flemmo update?....

lmao....yeh your right Moe.....thought I'd just pass on some info from a bloke I work with who knows Flemmo........though word of mouth can be bs sometimes.....

Like the dude I know who knows a Richmond board member.....(He does know him cause I've met the 2 together)...anyway...this guy tells me that this board member knows for a fact that Richmond weren't looking at Wallace for coach.......but Eade...

Wasn't I fed a whole lot of bs......and I bit too!

So in reality.....who really knows.......Flemmo could end up playing for the Parkside 3rds in the Amateurs....

The one thing i will remember about Flemmo is that like some deranged sheep dog, Flemmo ran to every contest, like he wanted to be part of it....eventhough he may not of had the skills to finish the job.....

Pity Ottens never had Flemmo's ticker....

That's Geelong's problem now....lol

Go Tiges !!!

...But do you weigh up D Kellaways inability by foot against the inept defensive work of Tivendale and Rodan wich never seems to be questioned ..Players of the Kellaway ilk can be successfull as long as the cattle in the back line alongside of him are up to scratch ...remember a certain D Hart that played for West Coast wearing 36 that played in a couple of Premierships and was also not the greatest by foot and was there as a nullifier ...the other blokes around him were pretty handy though !! > Maybe Duncan and Andrew were victims of a coaching and recruiting staff that were deplorable in the recruitment and drafting of a backline

Duncan Kellaway:- Good Riddans

Its players like him that have made the club a rabble for a generation.

And to think this talentless hack is lauded as a champion!!!

If he was on anyone but Richmond list, he would of been playing suburban footy 7 years ago!!!

Kellaway would be the first to admit that he wasnt a champ. He and his brother knocked back money from the club saying that it was too much according to Carolyn Wilson

That other players looked after thier own nest despite that show of clubmanship is the reason why we were a rabble.
