Fletcher

If Fletcher gets suspended for that act of stupidity, we are no chance of beating Brisbane (Lynch will tear us a new one, not to mention what Bradshaw and Brown will do). And if we get thumped by Brisbane, then our season is all but over (no way we are good enough to win 6 in a row).

So what do we do with Fletcher? If the above scenario plays out, I say sit Fletcher in the stands for the rest of the year and give Sam Hunt a go. Fletcher HAS to learn some sort of discipline, because this is becoming a common theme. He all but cost us any chance of making a Preliminary final last year and should he be suspended for weeks, will cost us any chance of making the finals. For the record, I dont think we will make the finals, and I dont think we would make the finals if Fletcher gets off this charge, but we would have had a better chance.

A club suspension of 5-6 weeks (after the 2 he gets at the tribunal) is a fair enough punishment for Fletch - rob him of his match payments.

Any thoughts?

I would say 50 large. We can not defend the indefensible. He has a screw loose. He is not well in the head. I love Fletch , but I`m sick of defending him.

I agree. Throw him in the reserves. Makes too many mistakes (i.e football mistakes) to warrant a place in the seniors.

Won't ever happen of course. He's a "name", and everyone thinks he can play.

He can play. Whether or not he actually decides to is another matter.

He is as good as we think he is, but its hard to prove it when he spends most of the time in the grand stands!

Interesting to see how many times his been done over the last few years. His turning into a modern day phil carman.

Once again (fairly or unfairly) I will be blaming Dustin's lack of control as the reason our season ends.

He did it last year... and he is at it again.

Sam Hunt, now there is an all australian full back of the future.

Next year I reckon he will be given a real crack at the spot in the seniors and Fletcher will be given the opportunity to run out his career at full forward (Lloyd to CHF, Lucas to CHB, Henneman 2nd Ruck).

It will be interesting to see if Sheeds reckons he is ready to have a go at it this week coming if Fletcher is suspended.

I don't think they will drop Fletcher to Bendigo. He is a very very important player for Essendon. We are simply not as good without him.

Agree (in part). We simply aren't good enough anyway, but Fletchers stupidity just seals our fate.

Like i said. If we can't make it, give Fletcher the rest of the year off.
