MICHAEL HORAN'S FORECAST: Does the skipper come back after his family tragedy? The Swans are coming off a heroic win in Catland land and back at home to lowly Brisbane then a home final highly likely the following week.

Anyone else see this? Haha :). Those damned staff writers ;).

So they list three of the most consistent players, and yet don't give White or Kennelly a mention haha.

Yeah, this isn't the first time they've made such bad calls in those reports. It is pretty disgraceful though. How much did these guys get paid for that article?

Honestly, they scour BigFooty for rumours about player movements, etc, which the posters would have no idea about, so you'd think they'd cast their eyes over what the fans are saying about stuff they might actually know about. The chatter on BigFooty is (generally) much more informed than these articles.

The only thing that article managed to do was remind me about LJ and Everitt as I had completely forgotten both of them. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone that was on the block after the win down in Geelong, although surely the first two names to pop up would be Meredith and Kennelly, neither of which had particularly bad games by any stretch.

Yes it is

Bedders, seriously? Aside from one choice example, spread over two accounts (and rightfully shot down), the Kennelly "hate" has basically gone as far as, "damn, he's been a champion, but he's past it now and I hope he's dropped as we can't really afford to carry passengers with a finals-bound side for the sake of sentimentality". Whereas McVeigh copped "McHack", and everything that came with it for years.

And I was one of the last to hop on the "drop Kennelly" bandwagon, so this isn't a retrospective attempt to justify any "hate" from my perspective.

And he deserved it ffs. Kennelly had had one bad period and everyone wants him to retire, which he might do at the end of the year. Last Saturday he was part of a very good performance by our club.
So what was the other account ?

And McVeigh was part of many good performances by the club as well, during the time he was being bagged. He was also a developing player, playing a defensive role which didn't suit him but was good for his development (and we managed to get to the 2006 GF with him in the team, so he must have been doing something right). And yet he was systematically ridiculed, and still is.

Kennelly, on the other hand, has received a bit of hate, but mostly sad, respectful, disappointment in his performances. Nothing like the vitriol McVeigh suffered, and the harsh treatment he still receives from some posters.

And the accounts were the "Blood" accounts. Can't remember the exact names, but both accounts are banned now. He called Kennelly a coward, and most of the board jumped on him. Yeah, the very board you accuse of hating Kennelly.

Here we go again, just for the record. McVeigh played about 80 games before he started to play better and was always overated by many. I believe in his time at the club there have been other players who might have developed into good players with the same opportunities that Jarrad has had. I also believe if he wasn't a Sydney boy we might have picked someone else up , as the club was a bit gunshy with the likes of Hayes and Davis being recruited by Melbourne clubs.
This does not mean i hate McVeigh, which i have been accused of in the past. He is a good player and that is it, but he is a valuable player for us and lets hope he and his partner have more luck in the future.

I love Kennelly, but that handball that he gave Shaw on the weekend sums up his last 10 weeks. A shocking handball and I don't know what has happened to him, started the season off pretty good. I truly hope he retires at the end of the year, so that he will be remembered as the legend of the club that we all know him for.
