Good evening friends and welcome to Preliminary Final week.

At the start of each season I map out each of the potential milestones that the Coney Island Warriors reach, but the realist in me limits that mapping to the home and away season. So it goes without saying that our participation in the finals series for season 35 has come as a pleasant surprise on a number of accounts. The most obvious one being the evolution of the #Flagwazzas tilt and the chance to create history, but the extra three games (and counting!) has meant that another milestone is upon us - the 100th game in the qareer of FootyGuy13.

Those with a penchant for corporate history & useless trivia will know that there were 39 different variations of water displacement product before the scienticians perfected the formula and gave us WD40. And so it is with our milestone man, with a dozen draft iterations of FootyGuys giving way to the finalised version we celebrate today. Hailing from the Melbourne electronic AFL realm, Guy joined the Warriors in season 30 and quickly brought his statistical acumen to bear and became a key member of the Warriors organisation. He also had a standout rookie season onfield, culminating with Guy being adjudged the best performing rookie in season 30 as part of the Rising Star awards.

It is behind the scenes however that Guy comes to the fore. Pretty much from his entry to the SFA he has provided expert analysis, meticulous attention to detail and a passion for history to the Warriors via a number of initiatives. He put together and presented a wonderful thread celebrating the 20 greatest Warriors of all time, gave us insights into our onfield performances and ensured that the Frankston Rover Medal votes meet ISQ 9001 certification standards. And last but certainly not least, he serves as the Vice Captain of the reigning Minor Premiers, crouched in a state of cat like readiness should I ever fall in a ditch get a life fail to perform my captaincy duties.

Not content with the internal work he does for the Warriors, Guy has provided equally impressive service to the wider Sweet community. He has been a part of the Match Simming & Posting team over a number of seasons, has regularly provided match thread OP's (usually on or about round 13) and has extended his statistical chops to Mobbs Medal predictions.

In match threads he is a source of both dry humour (hence the WD40 analogy), a zeal for all things Eurovision and obscure yet hilarious videos, all in precise 20 post doses. He knows that today is Friday in California, he knows which box has a carrot in it and he knows how to ski the Coney Island hard top. And on the field he has been a winger par excellence over much of his qareer with a Frankston Rover Medal to his name before venturing forward this season where his performances should see him attain his first All-SFA blazer. Here's his first 99 games by the numbers:

Someone greatly admired both within the walls of Van Cortlandt Park and throughout Sweet, Guy is one of those people that work tirelessly to make this place somewhere we like to come and spend a bit of time being online sporting personalities. I truly see him being a future Frankston Rover Award recipient, and a heart & soul Wazza who will one day join the pantheon of club greats & Life Members at Coney Island (before you ask yet again Headless, no).

So on behalf of all of us at Coney Island, mazel tov to you FootyGuy13 for an outstanding century, and here's to the next few hundred!

Get around him Sweet!!!

Is yet to Sim a game where everyone has been happy with the result, so wouldn’t be boasting about that part of his “contribution “ to the SFA.

Congratulations anyway FootyGuy13, one of our regular customers at Camel Couriers.

Happy 100th FootGuy13, a ripping clubman and low key the league's best stat guy doing the rounds. Been a pleasure to suit up alongside you at the Wazzas for 95.95% of your Sweet FA matches my man. :thumbsu:

Will never forget your dunk all over Ant Bear before you'd even debuted. :fire:

Congratulations anyway FootyGuy13, one of our regular customers at Camel Couriers.

thats because some people have no understanding of the fundamentals of the Sim.

Congrats to my warrior buddy FootyGuy13 LFG Wazzas!!!

Well done, FootyGuy13. At first I thought you were kinda weird, hanging out in the back corner like that. Then you started simming matches where the Furies lose and I realised you're actually good for this place.

Congrats on 100, and hope you're around for plenty more ❤️

Love always,
JC and the Furies.

Congrats to my warrior buddy FootyGuy13 LFG Wazzas!!!
The fundamentals of the Sim ensure there is a losing team in every game … pretty sure.

It stands to reason then, that FootyGuy13 is not immune to upsetting at least one team with the result every game, as I stated.

I dont know why people would be upset by a pretend simulation, must be very sensitive.

anyhow, LFG #Flagwazzas

For me FootyGuy13 will always be the guy ripped off of the Rnd 13 rising star torch nomination that led to me trying to make a deal and @tongabob almost rage quitting.

Good times. I stand by Bob and my original position that Guy was robbed.

FootyGuy13 to me will always be the guy who saved the S31 Rising Star presentation, after PMBangers walked offstage half way through.

Congratulations on your century and good luck in the Prelim.

Legend for those of us who have a bit to do with him, has always been a great ally and help to me whenever I have asked, and puts in his own time for the League in his quiet humble way.
Congrats on your 100th game FootyGuy13 and much luvins and respectins from a friend 🫶

Oh, and from me too!
