Essendon will make the top 8 next year, bookmark it. However i don't see us being truly competitive or a serious threat yet.

Whenever someone says that, they are wrong. Why would I bookmark it if you don't see them being competitive anyway?Essendon will make the top 8 next year, bookmark it. However i don't see us being truly competitive or a serious threat yet.

Hurley is going to play in defence apparently so he is out of the forward group. You listed Hille/Ryder in the forward line yet don't include Kreuzer who will most likely spend a fair bit of time in the forward line with Warnock and Hampson as the rucks. You have a better defence but both forward lines are very, very similar. Apart from the ruckmen, Waite is the clear standout player out of those names and will be the most dangerous in the forward line imo.
Yes.Some Essendon flogs are in for a very rude awakening come late August...
Disastrous? We just followed the normal cycle of a football team. We had been up for so long, so naturally we were due to fall. It's always disappointing to miss out on finals but I wouldn't call it a disaster. Can Sydney rebound from a disastrous 2009 and make the finals in Paul Roos last season as coach?
This is probably the closest to what I think.
St Kilda + Dogs 1 & 2
---------------------
Geelong + Hawthorn 3 & 4
---------------------
Adelaide 5th
---------------------
Brisbane + Pies + Eagles 6, 7 & 8
Any combination of the above.
Yes.
It seems that the only people tipping Essendon to finish in the 8 are in fact Essendon supporters ( have a look at this thread), who have clearly overestimated the ability of their list on the back of a lucky finals spot in 2009.

Continue to think we're crap. It will make it more enjoyable.

i think you will find the vast majority of non-essendon supporters think the same...we can't all be wrong.
They do?
Essendon conceded more points than Carlton last year.
The Bombers have early picks playing at full back and CHB, but they don't have a better backline overrall. Our backline was in the bottom eight for points against before we lost players due to injury.
Their backline has lost McPhee.
To be fair, it is only one Essendon supporter. What is it with Essendon Supporters thinking they are on the up. You made the finals last year because nobody wanted 8th. Oh Thats right you beat St kilda. If you played that game over 10 times essendon wouldnt win again.
They are a average team. They need to go back down the ladder and rebuild. They along with carlton will be heads of the bottom 8.

I would see this breakdown as accurate.St Kilda
Footscray
Collingwood
Geelong
Adelaide, Hawthorn, Brisbane
Carlton, West Coast, Port Adelaide, Essendon
Fremantle, North, Richmond, Sydney, Melbourne
Massive LOLyou guys lack pace if only you had a Lovett type to take the Saints on...![]()

Missing lovett will be covered by the debut of Long and colyer and possibly dempsey being moved into the midfield, plus injury free seasons from davey and winderlich fingers crossed. And hopefully Jetta will have a bigger impact this year as well.
