I totally agree with you here blues76. Even though we may be collecting our 2nd wooden spoon in the space of 4 years, it is overshadowed by the fact we would have the oppurtunity to pick up a few real young guns in the draft early.

I mean, have a look at Richmond and in particular Hawthorn, they have some real young talent instilled in their lists as a result of their early picks last year.

I don't think we will purposely drop games for priority picks, and I will be disgusted if we do. If teams continue losing games on purpose, than we should get rid of them or make the reward less.

Forget about the irishmen. You are in NO position to be experimenting. You need seasoned players. Experimenting is for the teams who have the luxury to be able to do it within their lists. Carlton doesnt. Get rid of them immediately and get some good youngsters in there.

Totally agree with this as well. I have said it before and i will say it again. Asaike is as useless as **** on a bull and should have never been rookie listed. He is lucky to touch the ball in the seconds at Preston and would struggle even to get a game at local level. Sentanta has shown with some more time might ave a future.

Don't think I agree with picking up seasoned players. Carlton have had a poor recent history of trading early draft picks for established players and then getting shot in the foot when the established players turn out to be duds (Mansfield, O'Reilly).

Now that Elliott is out of the picture, and the arrogant smear that 'Carlton Never Rebuilds' has gone with him, the Blues need to go for young talent and with a bit of luck can jag a couple of smokeys in the draft that turn in to guns. A bit like the saints.... they got Hayes at 7, Dal Santo at 13 and Maguire at 21.

I agree we need more decent young kids in the draft, hopefully a priority pick and get rid of plodders like Mcgrath, Bannister, Clarke, Morrell etc who aren't really taking us anywhere.
