Coaching Staff Former Coach James Hird

Do you think Hird should coach Essendon again?

Maybe she should be named in the media? It's obvious they know who she is. Or maybe they are worried that making baseless accusations about people isn't appropriate. Oh wait...
"media now camped outside of house of wife of prominent judge who abused James Hird at the Christmas Party. Her daughter has just left to play tennis"

Make no mistake..this is heavy duty stuff. A bloke has taken #### knows what during a mental breakdown and ends up in a ward under sedation.

It's bigger than Fev with a dildo or Carey and Kelli..but everyone is forgiven in some way.

A lot of people I know (quite normal sort) honestly believe Hirdy should've be in jail by now.

I've had 4 years of people asking me (because they know I'm a devout bomber fan) if Hird is entirely responsible for the whole thing.

4 years of the shit has fried people's brains and no one knows what the facts are anymore.

And in the end, Hirds reputation has sunk lower than a Sam Mitchell knee to the guts.
The media creates perceptions. Perceptions are why we fail to properly analyse the facts.

The following organizations are off limits in the table tennis house.

1. AFL (outside of Essendon related content)
2. News limited
3. Faifax
4. Croc Media
5. Jump Media

This list is a work in progress

If Essendon supporters cant be bothered separating fact from fiction, there's no hope anyone else will.

Considering she is suppose to be married to a judge and we all know how many mistakes they make, you would think she might be a bit more level headed, or maybe its just the moment & a few too many wines have got to her and the four years just took over, added she might have been very clinky with the host and felt she had the power to unleash.

If she holds any position within any Essendon coterie group, this position should be reviewed, if she has a complaint about the last four years the only place that criticism should be made is at the EFC.

There is a great article by Graham Cornes that you should read he's 100% spot on.

Here be the link.

ARE you satisfied now?

Those of you who have vilified James Hird — the media, particularly the Fairfax Press, who hounded and ridiculed him; the keyboard cowards who act from their cover of anonymity and lack of any moral filter; the opposition fans whose prejudice and hysteria blinded them to the facts; the AFL which lost control of what should have been an internal matter; the football world in general which has ostracised him; and indeed those from within the Essendon Football Club who were desperate for a scapegoat — must all face the consequences of their comments and their actions.

He's right about the AFL losing control. The AFL could have given the finger to WADA before they appealed the tribunial descison and that would have been the end of it imo.

The AFL had complete control. They're more to blame than anybody. They orchestrated the entire campaign with their concerted PR effort to make him the scapegoat.

They should be answerable for their actions.

Sarah... won't you tell me your name...

They could have since when do the AFL care about optics? imo after all this they should have cut ties with Asda/WADA form thier own code.
It's got nothing to do with optics. For various reasons, mostly related to funding, they would never cut ties with WADA. It's useless even entertaining the prospect of it because it was never going to happen.

Anyway, let's not turn this into another rehash of the drugs stuff. We still have the thread on the History board if we want to go into detail about WADA and so on.

Im sure the AFL make more then enough money that they don't need government funding but yeah I leave at it that.

Pretty much sums up the whole sorry ordeal endured by Hirdy..

As Hird’s former lawyer Steven Amendola said on Friday, the football world has forgiven former AFL stars who glassed their partners or slept with their best mate’s wife, but seemingly not James Hird, the so-called architect of Australian sport’s greatest scandal.

To digress, I still view Carey as a former violent misogynist and Campbell Brown as a repeat violent criminal. Neither should've ever been allowed to return.

Edit: spelling.

Yeah but..I haven't heard anyone last year at my local footy club (a huge club full of footy nuts) bag Carey for his past antics.

But every week without ####### fail, someone will bring up Hirdy to me and ponder the question of whether he is 100% to blame for it all.

People are obsessed with the thought of one of the games all time greatest/famous players bringing down a super power in the EFC.

Just the way it is unfortunately.

The whole media frenzy and narrative against Hird was unprecedented, and all to save the AFLs precious image. In light of the tragic news re Hird you have to wonder at what cost. AFL and Fairfax have blood on their hands over this.

My hope (outside Hird recovering) is for some dirty laundry to come out against the AFL now that this has happened. It seems some in the media are at least defending Hird now.

The whole thing was a massive beat up that got out of control. I mean, the whole Russian Olympic team was banned for Govt contolled doping program and the media coverage of that paled into insignificance compared to the scrutiny Hird received.

Hird's made a formal complaint to the Press Council over this issue - According to the Press Council no breaches of the guidelines - I am surprised the neighbors allowed this to happen - Surely it must frustrate and inconvenience the neighbors to get them to take action - I'd me most unhappy if I was a neigbour.
Yes, but you would be very rich

Hird should accept the job offers from overseas - Expats move their children around all the time and they continue to receive a good education and adapt well to new surroundings - The thought that children won't adopt is thinking from the Dark Ages.

You know what the difference is? 12 years.
Another 10 years and there will be plenty of other things the papers/footy nuts will be talking about, and hird will likely have had years of well deserved peace.

Believe Tania has one or several business interests here in Melbourne.
