This game showed why Jetta needs to play every week. Adelaide ran to receive time after time out of their back half with little or no pressure. You cant play a forward line with lloyd, Neagle, Lucas, Skipworth, Monfries etc without Davey and Leroy there to make life difficult for the opposition defense. The forward line was like a ****ing turnstile today.

Jetta plays next game and all year if we are fair dinkum about winning.

That second half, so many times our players just got shrugged off when trying to lay a tackle.

It was pretty good in the first quarter, but declined from then on. I think if you're going to play three talls, one has to have the mobility and work rate of some like Ryder.

I'm not even a fan of Skippy's and i question his spot in the team but at this stage Skippy >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Jetta.

Jetta is not up to AFL standard at this point in time.

Can't pick a bloke that cant play just because he puts on a bit of percieved pressure in the forward line.

Rubbish.

First of all he can play, secondly our forward strucure demands that he plays. or are you happy watching Bock stroll away from skipworth Lucas etc to set up another easy forward thrust. If you're going to play guys that cant chase then you need to surround them with guys that can.

exactly!

the selection process is poor not because he wasn't selected ... but because DANIHER wasn't selected. It was clear, and i said this in the other thread for selections vs. adelaide, that we were a defender down. No fletcher, hurley or NLM and on paper our backline included mcphee (who is carrying an injury), stanton (a midfielder and in no way a defender) and mcveigh (very underdone player).

they were scoring at like 50% of inside 50s to goals halfway through the game ... which is like double the afl season average. just disgraceful defending.

there's only room for so many midfielders and knights needs to make the decision between reimers, prismall and mcveigh. if any are underdone, then bring em through the VFL.

I just got home. That was so f***ing frustrating to watch in the final quarter. We looked tired in the end...

We made some poor decisions coming out of half back.

And Jetta > Skipworth......

Is Jetta really the answer though? He's not exactly a tackling machine and has only kicked one goal in five games and hadn't been in great form to begin with.

Problem is the lack of other options I guess, but I do agree with the lack of forward pressure.

He doesnt have to tackle, just chase a man out on the rebound. Just knowing a guy is on your arse can force errant kicks and turn overs.

Well said.

It's ****en mind boggling what goes through Knights and the selection committees head selecting the slowest side since Sheeds Anzac Day debacle.

Okay now, firstly, you cant compare Jetta and Skipworth.
and Skipworth played quite well.

We needed that forward pressure today, and it was one of the many reasons as to why we did lose.
