Well with the teams announced in a couple of hours for this weekend's games, and no news on an upgrade for Andrew Foster, it looks as though he'll be having a weekend off as East Freo have the bye this round... Thought he might be just about there after a great game on Monday, but looks like it's not to be....

If he wasnt promoted this week I cant see him being promoted unless we lose a midfielder long term. With Schammer and Farmer back in round 13 id say he wouldnt be in the 22 unless we were to drop guys like Webster, Cook, McManus or M. Carr...

Seen foster play a few times this year and will be a certainty for the senior list for 2008

I think it may be the fact that they havn't given up on Justin just yet and are still trying to find someone who can do some repairs.

With an injury list like this at the moment:

FREMANTLE:
Ryley Dunn (knee) - 2 weeks
Andrew Browne (hamstring) - 3 weeks
Justin Longmuir (knee) - indefinite

There appears to be no real need for just the next two games at the most.

Fair enough - but Justin is on the LTI, and they have said they will reward WAFL form, and a quick mid might be just what we are needing, and Crowley's out, and now might be a good time to give someone a go to see how they can perform before Wiz and Scham are back....and, and, and.... ;)

I heard Justin on 92.9 on a friday morning a couple of weeks ago saying he was going to sydney for a specialist appointment in a couple of weeks and that appointment would decide his year. Id say they would be waiting to see what the specialist had to say before lodging the paperwork.

Just found this:

The club has not ruled out a possible return to football this season for Justin Longmuir. The 26 year old was placed on the long term injury list with a knee injury and has visited Melbourne and Sydney for appointments with specialists in a bid to overcome the injury.

“We want the best medical consultants to really help develop his programme but we’re confident and hopeful he’ll come back and play for Fremantle at some stage,” Connolly said.

“Hopefully (it will be) this year but, again, we’re gathering information in due diligence and we’ll make a calculated decision in the best interests of Justin, firstly, and the club of course.

“He’s a great competitor and a great person. He’s a terrific leader around here.”

Thanks IP. It appear i was wrong about him being on the LTI list , but right about them not having written Him off yet.

listened to peter german last night adn he said the club was keen to get marcus drum back into the side and also that a new guy would get a game in the next couple of weeks. so im thinking either foster or ibbotson will play soon

It's Ibbo I have no doubt about it. :thumbsu:

no he hasnt IP but germo reckons he is a future leader of the club and they want to give him as many opportunies as possible

Make them earn it. Polak, Medhurst, Headland and Mundy would be much more consistent if they were forced to earn their spot from day one.
