Adelaide expects to regain four senior players for Friday night's Wizard Regional Challenge Series match against Sydney at AAMI Stadium.

They are Tyson Edwards (quad), Simon Goodwin (shin), Mark Stevens (broken nose) and Scott Welsh (groin), who all missed the practice match against Geelong at Port Lincoln last Saturday.

Nathan Bassett, James Begley and Matthew Clarke played against Geelong and should front up again this week. Bassett had had a wrist injury, Begley a sore neck and slight concussion and Clarke a quad strain.

The Crows' injury list is:
Luke Jericho (back) 1 week
Scott Stevens (corked thigh) 1 week
Scott Thompson (shin) 2 weeks
Rhett Biglands (groin) 2 weeks
Michael Doughty (broken wrist) 2 weeks
Ben Hart (hamstring) 2 weeks
Ivan Maric (knee) 5 weeks
Chris Knights (knee) 5 weeks

Bad news for Knights and Maric :( 5 weeks before even getting on the park with Knee tedonititis, did we recruit them with these injuries, same goes for Thompson.

Begley played with concussion  That's bodering on dangerous,

Begley's concussion was from the Port not Cats game, so he shoulf be OK. The 4 returning players are all keys to our side & need some match fitness prior to Round 1. Thompson must be doubtful now for the Weagles game.

Not good news on Thompson.

His shin problem seems to have been hanging around for a while now. Hopefully it won't become a perpetual "2 week" injury.

whats exactly the extent of the injury?

is it shin splints or something else?
If I had a player with a history of shin and foot stress fractures I would be keeping him off as many hard grounds as possible and training him on the bike and pool.

i just wonder how much of a disadvantage we are at by training on the basheer reserve which is generally hard all year round

Would think that is a factor - but whats Norwood oval like - thought that might have been more player friendly?

i may have missed your point - but i dont wish to have them train at norwood nor at any other sanfl club's oval

i think we should be training on Footy Park itself in lieu of the Basheer reserve sessions

I was meaning the surface at Norwood is probably softer under foot than Basheer reserve.

And what's the problem with training at SANFL ovals - better facilities, better surface and really means nothing politically speaking.
