I honestly think Fox's coverage today was the worst I have ever seen. The amount of the game we missed due to replays of insignificant events was ridiculous, then when you want a replay they don't play it the big one being a mystery free kick to Lynch which resulted in him having a shot on goal. I don't understand how they can miss an entire ruck contest and clearance to show something which had no bearing on the match at all, and not replay a free kick when a player is going back for a run up. Whoever was in charge of replays for today's game needs to be sacked, just because the commentators are still talking about something doesn't mean you need to replay it and miss a passage of play. Normally they are pretty good, but today was just disgraceful.

If foxtels "replay manager" is really your main gripe with the coverage, then you sir are a very tolerant man.

I just hope with the new TV rights comes some new commentators.

Yeh was going to mention Riccuitto, by god his voice is annoying and doesn't really add anything to the commentary team but i suppose with Jacko in it the standard isn't exactly that high. I am a fan of BT though, think he is the best going around atm.

My big issue with the replays over the commentary were mostly that i was missing out on seeing the game, no matter how terrible the commentary is most of the time you can still view the game with it.

Don't usually care about coverage, but Mark Ricciutto is APPALLING to listen to.

How does a bloke that boofy have a voice like a weasel?

Can just imagine that fight between he and Josh Carr: one lisping away, the other doing his beavis and butthead impressions

Heh, made the comment today that he sounded like an old pisshead making snide comments at a rundown country pub.

And agree, coverage was piss poor. Some of the camera angles were ridiculous. One of Nicoski's goals at the Perth End looked like it was being filmed from the top tier of the 3 tier stand, absolute crap.

dont be sexist, admit it, its not really the voice that annoys u its because its a female.
oops this isnt the kelly underwood thread.

Yep cant stand ricciutos voice its as annoying as kelly underwoods.
atleast this time when people complain about his voice everyone will believe it.
Unlike when people complained about kelly.

Agree with all of this.

Admittedly, these matters seem more annoying when we are losing, but the combination of:
  • Poor camera work.
  • Terrible decisions in the vision-switching booth.
  • Ricciuto's voice (like nails down a blackboard) in light of the fact that he adds no value.
  • The collective lack of knowledge about our list/injuries/etc.
  • Naming the wrong players. Sure, Broughton and Lower have similar-coloured hair, but seriously...
  • Periods of bias where the commentary team cheers for one side (it happened last year in our favour, and I hated it then also),
Make the coverage near-unwatchable.

Compare this with the Collingwood-Geelong coverage on Friday night, and you would think that you were watching a different league.

The best camera work was when they were behind a player kicking for goal and after it was kicked they didnt follow the ball upwards so we didnt even know where it went. :o

There was bit where I think Brad Johnson managed to sound like a total dolt trying to work in a soccer analogy referring to player attempting a soccer goal as Wayne Rooney and getting completely lost in words mid sentence.

I chuckled at the awarkward silence that followed.

Agree with all of that. Worst effort of the year from Fox
