I have a wide screen plasma as well as Foxtel Digital and am getting frustrated at the delay in the agreement b/w ch's 7 & 10 to broadcast in wide screen digital format through foxtel. it was meant to be implemented months ago. Does anybody know what the story is and do people think now that stokes and foxtel have had such a falling out over the football rights, we will never be able to receive digital transmission for 7 & 10 through foxtel? Also, has anybody got a digital set top box as well as foxtel to get around this problem??

its because ten and 7 could not come to a agreement on it.


btw fox digital picture aint that great they need hd for sports

All I care about is the digital program guide so I can just 'IQ' things instead of having to set the specific time somethings on.
 
The problem is worse on Foxtel Satellite (also Digital). You need to flick the AV button on the remote and 'leave' Foxtel to tune into either 7 or 10 (not as though I have a great need to do so).
 
I am in the same position, eagerly awaiting digital retransmission agreements. I have cable, and hence the FTA channels are all re-broadcast, but they are analogue, and sometimes quite poor quality - definitely not widescreen. It is even worse here in Perth, as Channel 9 is not digital.

I took the plunge and bought an HD receiver, so I just flick over to the high quality signal if I find something on FTA to watch.
 
The fact is that I long ago stopped reading the TV guide and now go by the Foxtel on-air channel guide. Seeing that channels 7 & 10 are not listed, I tend to never click on there (not that I think I'm missing out much anyway).

There is always something else to watch or do. Their loss not mine.

I tend to do the same thing. I don't often watch 7 or 10 but my main (only??) concern now is that the AFL is only on 7 & 10 and i'll miss out on the same digital quality that 9 had and that fox footy had live and showing 10's games on replay.
 
yeh mine has carked itself aswell

FTA, I love it, I'm not paying money for crap TV, in the hope they might get footy.

That's what happened to mine, unplug it and plug it back in. Fixed that problem but now there's no program guide even on the display banner when you change channels: "Further infromation is unavailable". :thumbsdown: :confused:

Locate the back and select buttons on the front of your FOXTEL set top unit;

If you do not have these locate the FOXTEL and Standby buttons, then Press and hold these buttons at the same time for 3 seconds then release.

Wait for 30 seconds then press the FOXTEL button on your FOXTEL remote control.

Picture and sound should return after a few seconds.


Should be grouse shortly after.
