hi guys, not sure about this so help me out if you can.with the rumour about buddy going to gws(and seriously if he didn't he would be a fool) will this create an opportunity for the afc to be able to get some talent in? I realize that the afl will put up a big part of the money (will never understand why clubs are made to stand on their own two feet) but surely this may create some pressure on their list.i know our draft picks this year are a disaster but let me know your thoughts please.

I assume you mean we could poach some talent from GWS? Bear in mind that the AFL will NOT allow GWS to have any salary cap headaches - if a young gun from GWS wanted more money, he'd be able to get it, whether it's directly from GWS or the AFL. It's a scam, but then again so is this competition.

Pretty much what that guy said. GWS need to be successful to prevent the AFL losing a ton of money, so they'll be given everything they need.

We should trade Tippett for Cameron. Although Kurt has said he wants to go home to the Gold Coast, I reckon Sydney would suit him as he would be lower profile and could surf. We would need to convince his management but if the $$ were at least what we were offering, I reckon we could make it work.

Best of all, none of the gentlemen's agreement BS would have to be disclosed and the AFL would have no reason to query the trade as it is clearly commercial.

I agree it does make some sense on the surface. but i'd back us in to keep tippet, so any past issues with a so called gentlemen's agreement will become irrelevant. if they existed in the first place.
