Hey Devo and other Canberrians,
I just read in the West Australian paper that C.U.B are giving away free stubbie holders and free grog until the first goal is kicked at the Roos/Saints game....is this true?

_______________
Q. What's green and looks like a bucket?
A. A green bucket.

Take your funnels and yard glasses Roo people and you should be pissed after the first 4 minutes!........set for the rest of the day. (Nice and loud too!!)

Mal, there's no reason why you can't get tanked watching the game on channel Bruce.................except it's not free, DAMN!!

Jus to clarify, for $10 you got this special Roos stubbie holder that got you admission into the ROOS BAR marquee. (The legendary Ross Smith sold me mine but assured me I'd only get one beer in.) Between the first siren and the first goal the bar was open. This was a matter of minutes, anyway.

The club actually went to a great effort to promote the game in Canberra this week. They had KFC promotions, (Thanks Wayne for the free fillet burger by producing a footy admission ticket).

The merchandise stall was pretty well stacked & busy.

The Roos Bar was pretty full on. They had a band playing & everything.

I didn't get to the after function at the Hyatt though.

The weather was beautiful but I'm unsure if the Roos had a hand in that or not.

Next game in Manuka is June 30. Time to make arrangements NOW!

That's it - I'm going to the next Canberra match!

The Muzza's play in Lavington the next day, so it looks like it could be a big weekend!!!:D

Rossy Smith was at the Muzza match yesterday (briefly) doing what he does best (besides looking good) - Networking!

So 35eye - how many free beers 'did' you get in?

Did you see Heavy D up there taking advantage of stealing admission tickets to get as many free fillet burgers as he could? By the way - I saw the giant blow up of Colonel Sanders, I'm guessing that's where they were giving them away?

Did anyone make it to the Hyatt, I'd be interested in what happened.....

Taken from the AFL Website:

A makeshift ''Roo Bar'' served free beer between the opening siren and the first goal; apparently one industrious female fan downed four cans in the seven minutes.

O.K. own up - who was it? :D

The same question was asked on 3LO - and I too was wondering if it was one of you! 4 in 7 minutes is a fair effort!

It took and 7 or 8 minutes for the goal, and I know of one guy who managed to finish three beers in that time. He skulled one right in front of the bartender. I saw him asleep behind the Roo bar about an hour after the game.

Was the ROO BAR set up when the inflatable Colonel Sanders was?

I think the inflatable Colonel Sanders was between the TAB & the major scoreboard & an inflatable VB was propped up near the ROOS BAR.

Same side of the ground, thou.
