At least living in Qld I can fly down to Sydney, (shorter and cheaper
), and enjoy a game with a supporter group who are actually intent on learning the game and forging an existence in a difficult climate.The success will come...the AFL demands it!
On the numerous, (like over a hundred times over the years), times I flew to Melbourne, and other interstate games, I was in a constant state of cultural cringe at the antics and behaviour of our interstate supporters and our cheer squad in particular.
Just really embarrassing stuff that grown adults should really know better than to emulate week after week.
I simply refused to wear anything associating me with the club outside of Perth...and even then I was uncomfortable.
