He was certainly sore and seems to be running pretty awkwardly. Was certainly put through his paces at training on Friday. I wouldn't be surprised to see him miss the Brisbane trip, especially given Ibbo can slot in.

The way Ibbo's been going the last year or so, it could just be replacing one hobbling player that can barely run out a game with another hobbling player that can barely run out a game.

But still like the idea though. MJ hasn't been right for a while now and is such a damaging player for us when on song. I don't buy MJ was a liability, not at all. He butchered a few, overall I thought he had a good game especially in the middle 1/4s, but he could do with the rest and we could cover him more easily in this game than others coming up.

Our small forwards were getting involved at half back to give the kicker a short option rather than bombing it long for a stoppage.

We were structuring up to kick long to out talls (Not Pav) while he crumbed and dragged a key defender around behind him. Very clever.

Yep a lot of thought went into this one. I really liked the use of Pav, plenty of marks on leads still but not being required to bring the ball to ground in packs. Helped that Clarke actually flew for a couple. The clearances, once they got going in the second half, were just what they were after as well - was great to see a couple that exactly replicated what Stone had been going through with them at training. It helps having the size of Mundy being able to just shove Mitchell out of the way to clear space for the tap.

Hawthorn fans are nice. Even though they handed us our most heartbreaking loss ever last year, I still like them. (well at least from what I've seen on Bigfooty anyway)

Geelong fans on the other hand...
I have been an unashamed Freo respecter and admirer for a long time, and I sincerely hope if we aren't in the chase for the flag, which I anticipate, that Freo wins it.
I know many Geelong fans who agree. I know it's not a popularity contest, just saying.
I really like HB and Crowley as players, sure CS does too. Don't mind Lyon as coach, very clever.
Was a great win on Sunday.
I have thought Hawks all year to win the flag. Can only hope the curse of BTB strikes again.

Good to hear some positive vibes coming from a Geelong supporter. I didn't mind Geelong either but the most recent matches have added a bit of spite.

Just finished rewatching the game.

Tabs - geez he played well, few mistakes here and there but I really liked his overall performance. He didn't just draw the defender he demanded one. He looked dangerous and was involved in quite a few scoring shots. I really need to stop doubting Coach Lyon. I think in the third quarter he was in a 1v2 marking contest, managed to get a hand in there and followed up with a quick tackle. Looked great.

Sutcliffe - Is a ****ing gun period.

Crozier/Walters - our forward line just looked so dynamic. Constantly attacking but still applying the defensive pressure. Can't wait for our pitbull Ballas to join these two, and just on Crozier so happy that he backed up last weeks performance (5 goals in 2 games) he wants in on the finals squad.

Neale - Quite game with a fair few clangers, especially that kick into our F50 under no pressure that went straight to Lake. Can't imagine he'd get dropped with Barlow and potentially Fyfe out. He's earnt a get out of jail free card in my book. Reckon Lyon will give him a roast though.

Mundy - Earnt his pay check and then some. We were all saying last week that he's the last of the big trio that needs to find some form. Mundy/Barlow/Fyfe in form in a scary thing for whoever we meet in the finals.

Johnson - we all saw he had a few clangers but he was instrumental once the F50 wall was setup. He looked good, still building back into his AA form. Can't imagine he would be rested now unless injured.

Dawson - fantastic game, he looked confident which he never does. Would love him to have a great finals series because nobody apart from Freo supporters (and even then) give him any recognition for the good work he does.

Pav - Still got it. Some great crumbing goals and did well putting on some pressure up forward.

Hill - We got the better Hill, when he's on fire look out. If I was an opposition coach he would be tag number 1.

Last point - How good is Freo's future looking :-)

too be fair, we got the more advanced hill ... once bradley starts learning how to handle tags ... wow
both hills will be household names for years to come

any chance for another brother pair at the dockers?

Well done on the weekend guys. Made the trip over from Vic and despite not getting the result I really enjoyed the day (long weekend).

The ground gets a bad rap and you guys probably hate it but as soon as I walked in I enjoyed the feel of the place. Has that intimidating feel about it but despite your vocal supporters, I never felt intimidated. All the Freo supporters around us were great for a laugh and a joke. (The other end of the ground is a ****ing long way away though)

Your team clearly too good on the day after we failed to put you away in the first quarter.

I see Bradley as a long term replacement for Mzungu at the end of Hill's next contract.

When I saw someone quoted this I had to read and re-read it...

"Kep as a long term replacement for Mz at the end of Stephen Hill's next contract... what the f*ck is Taylor on about?"
Haha Hill Jnr would need to work on his defensive efforts to take over from Tendai but a few years can do that before he comes home.

That's how I read it first too.

Man Brisbane might play for McGrath's last game this weekend.... but c'mon this is Kep's retirement. Freo, do it for Kepler!
