I can't recall one time (there probably was one or two, but not enough) were Freo had serious problems getting out of defence in the first 3 quarters from a kick in.

Even that time when Freo took 4 marks in their defensive 50 from a kick in, they still had no problems getting to the centre of the ground. They just kept chipping it around to a loose man, eventually working there way to the centre. We can't just sit back and say "oo well, we will let em go 15-20 metres, it won't hurt us" but when this happens 4 or 5 times on end, it ****en hurts, and IMO it was what cost us this game....

We've been letting sides do that for most of the season, but I'm sure it's getting worse. Perhaps the coaching staff believe tha tthe physical toll on the players is too great to achieve the "full court press".

The bloke next to me has been getting utterly depressed about this for weeks now - and it does help to explain why we concede so many goals/points and many of our games become shoot-outs. We just don't man up so the other team can run the ball out of defence quickly - this is particularly dangerous against Freo, who have become very slick at transferring the ball out of defence using their skilled, good-marking defenders who back themselves.

Why Kenny?? This is finals now buddy - why would we want to go to a 50/50 contest with WC.... face it that was a very even contest - when we can get a 80/20 shot at a travelling side from Melb who have a shocking travel record this year (on the 4 occasions they've left home)?

Good luck in the finals to WC, but I'd rather see a draw that favours us, than one where it could go either way. 14 wins for the season is pretty awesome, let's make the most of it now we're there.

No. We were beaten by a better team on the day. Being the first full FFC game I've watched this year it was good to see them give a professional performance.

Tricky to flood our forward line but it sure worked for you.
