Ive put this message on the main board, but feel that i also have to put it on your club's board.

He is the only guy who can fix your Freo up and win them a premiership within the next 2 years.

Freo remind me so much of the crows before Blight became our coach.
He came in at the end of 1996, and immediately fixed our experienced blokes and won 2 premierships.

Get Him before its too late!

Let's give Harvey his three years to see whether he can turn it around, hey? It's a relief that Connolly's gone, if only so that we can have less threads blaming the coach for all our woes.

Our midfield is pathetic. Without Haselby, Palmer (a 3rd gamer) is our best clearance player. He's 19. :o

Personally I am a fan of Chris Connolly for how he conducted himself while in charge of the Dockers. Seeing as though I didn't see that many freo games I don't know how good or bad a tactical or game day coach he was, but are the team that much better with Harvey as coach? Are they showing signs of improvement? It seems Freo are currently putting up some inconsistant performances compareable to those while Connelly was in charge. I saw how brutal some freo supporters were towards CC on this board and I was wondering if some of that hate directed towards Connelly was unwarranted or seeing as the results are similar now should the negative comment have been directed at the players?
Cheers

we blamed connelly because he was way to soft he would keep picking the same guys because he liked them didnt matter how poor there form was or how good others in WAFL were going.

So we thought due to how soft he is on the players they think they could get away with half hearted efforts in games an there spot was never in jeopardy.

So far Harvey has been doing the right thing dropping under pperforming players an rewarding great form in WAFL.
Trouble is players still putting in half hearted efforts.

So we thought coach an players were to blame.
Now we see the players still have that culture problem its not something that can be fixed overnight.

But i do believe harvey will be able to get players giving their best efforts week in week out over time.
As for his matchday coaching, gameplan im yet to understand what it is.
Other than everyone in the backline run to create/setup attacks.
That is something that also will take time to get right.

If he can fix player attitudes that will go along way to helping us

Tactics is connelys strong point
Players are his weakness gets too freindly/soft with them

faith I think you should stick to knitting and crocheting. You would seriously have to have rocks in your head if you think Blight has still got it.He is battling to maintain his marbles let alone coach an AFL side now days.he had lost the plot when he was on the Tele.
1996 mmm now thats let me see 12 yrs ago,the game has passed him by,just like it has passed the log on ten and foxtel Walls.Troglodytes.

Blight got rid of McGuiness, McDermott and Andrew jarman - favourites of the crow army but weren't going to help the crows win a flag helped the likes of youngsters in McCleod, Goodwin, The Roo, Tyson Edwards & a very young Kane Johnson move into the midfield. - 2 flags back to back.

Now who could he get rid off in the current freo midfield and bring in some youngsters??

I was looking for clearance stats the other day, where did you find them? BTW, spot on.

Yea, because every club is clambering to get him:rolleyes:. It was too late about 5 years ago. Even as a hypothetical it's dumb idea - after Saints debacle, there is no way he would get a top job again.

Freo need a season or two of serious re-jigging of the on-field-discipline/winning culture/mental side of things. The raw talent isn't/hasn't been that bad - its not top 2 either, but its there abouts. Way too early to judge Harvey yet, but if he can do something about that, then I'll call him a winner.

Malcolm Blight ... of all suggestions
