I believe channel 7 being their typically poor selves won't be showing the match until 8:30.

With the amount of pre match that they like to do it would be fairer to show all friday night matches from 8pm. Surely it would help woo the younger viewers.

Eg. kids watching with their parents. Not many 5 year olds can stay up until 11 to get the result!

In Adelaide it starts on channel 7 at 830pm and after every goal there seems to be 50 ads it is so annoying!

I am going to TRY to not hear the score and watch it as if it is live for once on a Friday night.

Although if we are winning in the 3rd I will probably be too tempted to chuck on the radio

Channel 7 are an absolute joke. Watching the Champions League this mourning on SBS made me angry about how downright unprofessional the AFL telecasts are in every way. Shitty commentators, shitty boundary riders, shitty timeslots like this etc with C7 being the absolute worst, with their cheesy, over the top openings and tinny crowd noise help killing the atmosphere so we get to here to umps talk 90% absolute shite

Show it 5.40 while most are on their way home from work?

They only play finals live in Perth. As it should.

A small sacrifice to live in the best state in Australia.

I don't know about you, but I don't consider Today Tonight to be anything other than complete hillbilly trash TV. 6.30 would be nice, 7.30 at the latest. By 8.30 the game is hours old already...

You're forgetting that quality show Better Homes and Gardens... 7's switchboard goes into meltdown everytime they delay that ^(%*#. (they are the Nanna network after all)..

What gives me the irates is that they have 2 other channels to show the game on (HD and Digital). They could put it on one of them at 7.30 and still show it at 8.30 on the regular channel..

But who am I kidding that would be too logical.

Don't know what all the fuss about 7 is? Channel 9 were the poorest coverage in history, a comedy show. Also how many of you watched it at 6.30 or 7.30 on channel 9? None of you. Channel 9 should be renamed channel delayed.

7 do the best broadcast of football there is in my view. Except the ads. Its never been on live on a friday night and some of you are acting like this just happened. Always been 8.30 unless a final.

Just wait until 9pm and watch it on Foxtel if you have it. It finishes before the 7 coverage. Or better still ask some mates about satelite dishes and then you can watch it live Friday night. There is ways to get around it if its that important to you. I will be watching it in my lounge room at 6pm.

From what I understand they cant - if they want to air it on say, the HD channel, they have to air it on the main/non digital channel at the same time or before. Which sucks.

for all of you that can get there, the inglewood hotel shows friday night games close to been live. Tonights match will be on there at 6:30pm, not going to help everyone but if you can its good to go there have a few beers and they are the 2008 steak sanga award winners, so tuck into one of those. hope that helps anyone

Major sport shown live is a standard service in pretty much every country in the world. The only reason we have so much delayed stuff is Oz is government interference!

It should be available live. If people can't get home,tape it and watch their own delayed telecast. For those of us capable of getting to a TV we should be able to expect live as standard.

Imagine how happy the pubs would be with a live 5.40 start. Would really boost their post work numbers!!

Our coverage is a joke. The fact that it works well in Biggies life is completly irrelevant, you do have some sort of recording device don't you??

Its fair enough that it doesnt stress you out but its behind third world stuff to have major sport on 3 hour delays. Its mickey mouse, its backwards and its entirely unnecessary.....

Thats my beef, not whether its manageable or not worth worrying about but why the **** it exists at all. Allow Fox to bid and its live automatically. You only have to watch the Sunday games, if its a FTA game (i.e. no Fox) they show it whenever they frigging like to lead into or rap around the news - when its live on Fox and they are allowed to show it (magnanimously by Fox), they do so as soon as possible (often live) because they need to shelter their precious viewers from discovering live footy without ads....

I understand Perth folk have no choice but that doesnt stop me being genuinely pissed off that our country remains so backward in this regard.

AND you get to sit there through the full half time break aswell. Channel 7 are a freaking disgrace. I sent an email to them a couple of weeks ago regarding our game against Hawthorn...which happened to be a sellout and they couldn't even bother replying.
