Difficult to argue with Hawthorn's successful year, and since my time, easily the most dominant team ever. I am 57.
Great perseverance this year, and a well deserved GF win.
Again, did it without the flare of usual stars.
Freo was the most deserving team to play you in the GF, and I suspect they'll be stronger for this experience.
Thought Hodgey's speech was the best from a skipper I've heard.
Clarko was great too.

Thanks, Veedubs. I know it probably hurts to think this, but my opinion is that you would have beaten the Dockers if you'd won against us. I would have been going for you, too - Geelong is such a great club.

Cheers.

I have my doubts; we still don't have a fit #1 ruck, Hawkins is injured, and playing 4 finals to win a flag is near impossible. Freo fully deserved to be there, beat us at Geelong, and apart from GF jitters, were really competitive today. It looked as if Hawthorn actually beat Freo at their game.

I hope you guys can remember the respect that Hawthorn fans as a whole have for your club, the next time you see some Hawthorn muppet having a dip on other boards. They don't represent us all.

Certainly, from my experience, I relish the Hawthorn and Geelong rivalry, and I think the AFL are pretty blessed to have two sides who put on such great games every single time they meet.

No doubt we'll be seeing and meeting you at the pointy end again soon.

P.s. I tagged you all here, as you've dropped in over the last few weeks, and have shown a level of respect that has been lacking between the two sides posters for some time.

Cheers Echols, hope you invoked your avatar and slaughtered a decent bottle of whisky last night.

Great win, the best side won and joyous it was to see Ballantyne fold under pressure the way he did. See you guys next year, the challenge is now ahead of us to catch up.

Kudos Hawks , great season and well deserved Premiers for 2013.
Utmost respect for Clarkson and Hodge and the way they spoke after the game , all class.
Pissed myself laughing with the CH9 interview with Hodge outside Roughheads house , fantastic to see the boys come out clearly happy with themselves and sing the song. Bring on 2014 ;)

I certainly felt like I did, Sunday morning.

Everyone is level, as of 2014. We'll be the hunted, as well.

I have to admit that I hate losing to the Hawks with a passion, but the Hawks were clearly the best side of the year and deserved the Premiership. I also thought that the two best sides played off in the GF.
Congratulations. Party hard but party safe.

Really, I dislike Geelong alot, however the intention of the OP is fantastic! cheers bud.

congrats from a dockers supporter,I thought your guys played the better footy for the majority of the game (and year for that matter) and I was especially impressed with the behavior of most of the Hawks fans after the event, very humble and non aggressive in victory which was great to see
well played
great atmosphere both at the ground and walking around the CBD after the game
enjoy your win

Now that the dust has settled somewhat, well my dust anyway, I'd like to echo the thoughts of the OP and issue a huge congrats on a magnificent achievement in 2013. Thoroughly deserved and one that shows just what a brilliant FC you have on your hands.

Party hard and enjoy forever. You've won my respect and admiration and I look forward to many more a battle between our 2 clubs.

Pains me to say this but well done guys, I'll admit i hate hawthorn but god damn it you have to respect them!

Feeling is mutual. You love beating teams you respect and I think between the two teams there isn't a great deal of animosity, but more just a fierce competitiveness to beat each other. That's why some of us were going a bit mental during the streak. Whether on or off the field I think the way these 2 teams have dominated is unbelievable. Obviously your mob with one more flag but the combined win/loss ratio would be a sight to behold.

I think last year had a lot to do with it. Many Hawks well the obnoxious ones weren't around to feel the pain of 84/85/87 so only would have felt the joys of maybe 91 and obviously 08. The saying of you need to lose one before you win one could also be apt for supporters.

Nice sentiment form Cats fans. I can't but wonder what supporters of both teams would feel if somehow, through a strange twist of fate, Chappy ended up at the Hawks next year for his last year. Wow, the mind boggles. :)
How would it effect the curse? A reverse curse? Haha it would be amazing.
Again, thanks Cats. It's been a bloody huge 4 days. Go Hawkies.

The Hawks win made me very happy - a few years ago don't think I could have bared seeing your boys lift the cup aloft and carry on, but found myself a content footy fan and even enjoyed all the celebrations. Must respect you guys or something! 'grats.
