Nah, he was under 21 and had played less than 10 games on Jan 1 so he's eligible. :thumbsu:

If there was one disappointment for me tonight it was that Franklin didn't try a don't argue on Frosty. One of his major strengths is his tackling and it would have been very satisfying to see the bearded prick be driven into the ground by a Frosty special.
Franklin already knew of Frosts elite tackling skillz, so he avoided it at all costs to try save himself from adding more bubbles to the bath he already knew he was going to recieve!

Frost was great tonight, definitely. I think, though, that if that was Buddy in a Hawthorn team and not a Sydney team that Frost would have had some trouble... especially once Brown went off.
I know this sounds like I'm taking credit away from him - I'm not... I guess I'm just not putting too much crazy expectation on him right now. It was a great game against a bloke who has screwed us for year - definitely. But I think more factors than just Frosty made that happen.

I think we need to calm down a bit........... Last week peeps were all like "drop him for Keeffe, he's not ready"... It's going to be frustrating when he has a bad game and people call for his head again. We are notorious for jumping on and off player bandwagons on a weekly basis!

You are correct in thinking Frost's job would be harder against a Hawthorn based Franklin, but Frost still did well against him. He fought through contests with Franklin and as often as not prevented him from getting possession. Tonight was Frost's coming of age. He stood up when Brown ceased to be a 2nd tall defender. To think that Keeffe was needed in tonight's team! At times, he just kept the ball fumbling along in front of him, doing enough to deny possession to Franklin. He was good.

Right. Just like the overexuberant expectations of the lead up to this season led to a backlash following game one. Happens season after season around here.

Outstanding performance by Frost tonight, hoping he gets a lot of confidence from this game and becomes a solid player for us this season.

I thought Frost was going to be a spud after watching him last year. But he has speed, good side step, clean hands and kicks well and seems just tall enough.

I agree. This was the Ice Man's coming of age. It was a delight to watch. I'd also like to make a point that I've never bagged the guy. :)

Always a fan of Frost, like any other player consecutive games will make him feel at home, needs to hold some of his contested marks and he'll be ripper, the thought about Keefe is maybe he is in the wrong position? Can be a 3rd tall forward / ruck, leaving Reid down back White & Cloke stay at home forwards, now Toovey is getting the feel of the game again and Brown told to work on second efforts and run harder ( I can confirm that peoples ) makes us more organized. If Marly can get off and Scharenberg can get games under him, all of a sudden we aren't so bad.

Similar to above, I have always liked the look of Frost. He is hard as nails, fast, a good leap and has a good load of mongrel.

Hope he keeps his spot!

Got his fist to a lot of contests during the NAB cup. Looked likely and hasn't disappointed. Handy as a mobile defender with some height and reach. Would allow Brown to go to Tippett if he was playing.

Exactly that. We have (justifiably) been lamenting how poor our defence has been, with 100 points kicked aginst us in the four competitive games prior to last night (including three practice matches). But our planning for defence in 2014 was sound, if Marley and Scharenberg were factored in, plus an in form Keeffe. All three could make a big difference. Their absence has however given Langdon valuable exposure and experience. I'd also prefer they were available so that Fasolo could play up forward.

On topic, I thought Frost played a fabulous game, for someone with less than ten games experience. He has the makings of a fine defender.
