Frustration with Mod Thread

Seems a hell of a lot of completely over the top moderation tonight especially on the vent thread.

FFS people let people have a say about it. Take personal attacks out sure but a lot of other stuff has been disappearing for no good reason and when everyone's ire is up just makes things worse and makes the mods a target for abuse.

I hate the idiotic splitting of the game threads. Just have one thread so people can just have a read rather than just having to jump between threads.

No person attacks.

How much are we allowed to get away in the vent thread? Because if it's a lot, then we should continue to have one.

But, with that in mind. We can't just go out all guns blazing in every thread.

I agree, why can't we accept all types on this board, calm and rational responses have never been ingrained in football clubs let alone football supporters.

A warning was given to the vent thread of no personal attacks. Mods don't have time to continually delete posts that fall into that category so a one day ban was reasonable.

This is the worst part about poor performances.

Everyone gets so angry at the loss that they start turning on each other and forgetting that we're all friends and friends don't do this to each other.

It's the time when we're at each others throats when we really need to stand together - the only way we're going to get through this is if we have each others backs and learn to bite our tongues a little bit. Yes, it's an online forum but we should all remember that behind each and every post is another human being in the same boat you are with their own life with it's problems too. Would you say it to their face? If not, maybe rethink hitting the "Post Reply" button.

I don't get how anybody could be frustrated with the mods. They do a great job on this board.

So the reason that we started using vent threads in the first place was because posters got annoyed that unfocused ranting was unhelpful in terms of having a reasonable discussion in review threads after games; we still think that's a good approach. This way people who want to vent have a place to do it and those who want a more "rational" discussion can continue to post in the review threads.

We've only been removing posts when it's been bickering or other related nonsense. Believe me, there isn't a treasure trove of amazing posts that we've been deleting.

We understand people get frustrated after losses like that but we are only attempting to do our best to create a good atmosphere for football discussion.
