Gee, this thread's got way off track!
(Good thing, too. Fuel are pretty boring)

You're entitled to your opinion but I disagree. I would call Oasis or Coldplay boring but not Fuel.

I heard "Jesus Or A Gun" on Triple J one day when "Sunburn" was released and I just decided to buy the album to hear what the rest of the album was like and I loved it. It was one of those albums where I loved every song on it. Then when "Something like Human" was released I got that (along with a free t-shirt) and loved that too and from then on I was hooked. "Natural Selection" is probably my favourite though. There are so many cool songs and it gets a considerable thrashing on my stereo.

Yeah, I'm a pretty big Fuel fan.

For those interested the band has finished mixing the new album and have gone into mastering. I can't wait to hear what they have come up with.

Unofficial singer is Toryn Green. They have a new song out now "Gone" it's on their MySpace page as well as the fuelweb link above. I heard it but I guess I'll need to hear it a few times to really get into it.

Fuel's new album will be titled 'Angels & Devils' and it will be available August 7.
The new singer is Toryn Green and judging by the songs I've heard from the website he sounds like a perfect fit for the band. I can't wait for the new album. It should be a beauty.

Last saturday as I lay around watching tv..I came across American Idol :o ....

Heard one of their contestants sing an awesome version of Hermorage, aparently fuel offered him the lead singer position and he turned it down!

CBS) Chris Daughtry seemed to have "American Idol" in the bag when he was unexpectedly voted off. He finished in fourth place, but that didn't stop him from following through with his dream.

Now Daughtry, who hails from North Carolina, has his own band — aptly named Daughtry — and a record deal. He had an opportunity to front the popular band Fuel, but turned it down to pursue his own music.

Daughtry first started seriously pursuing singing when he was about 16 and got married when he was 20. He has a wife and children and two small children he said misses while on tour.

"I feel like I'm going to have to learn how to be a dad and husband all over again once I get home," he told The Early Show national correspondent Hattie Kauffman. "Honestly, it's a lot harder than I expected it to be."

Putting the work in has paid of for Daughtry. Entertainment Weekly called him the surest bet ever. He said he never doubted that he could come out of "Idol" with a career.

"I felt like I was going to be OK, but I am very happy because I don't know if I would have had this awesome band behind me," he told The Early Show co-anchor Hannah Storm. "I am really happy and proud of the direction I was able to go in."

Voice wise he would have been perfect.

Just on Daughtry, I have heard his new album and I was quite impressed with it. It definitely had a Fuel type feel to it. If he had taken on the job of front man of Fuel, he would have done a superb job.

Agreed.

Hinders new single sounds very fuel like as well..Better than their first one anyway.

Just wondering whether anyone else has found Angels & Devils anywhere? I happened to come across it at JB Hi-Fi as an import. I can't find it released anywhere in Australia yet though.

On the album, I love it. "Wasted Time", "Gone", "Not This Time" & "Again" are my favourites. Toryn Green suits the bands sound perfectly and sounds like he's been there the whole time.

This thread makes me sad.

Good, don't read it then.

When I first heard Daughtry I could see (or at least hear) why the remaining members of Fuel tried to get him into the band, but I'm glad he didn't take them up on it now, the new bloke is a very good fit, I like the new album.:thumbsu:

Muunky Tuunk Man, I don't know whether it's been released anywhere in Oz yet either, I got mine through Amazon when it came out in the US.

Fair enough, I get a little pissed at some of the musical snobberry that takes place on here, just because they don't like a certain bands music and because of that bag everyone who does listen to it and their tastes. Pointless.
