I would love to see McPharlin down at full forward, I know it would leave a hole in our defence but the guy is a great kick and has a strong lead. The guy would be very hard to match up on defensively and I could honestly see him holding down the position for many years to come injury permitting.

I'd leave McPharlin in the back line. He's done a great job there and we wouldn't wanna spoil it. I'd like J-Lo at Full Forward except for 2 problems. 1. His kicking is absolutely woeful and 2. We will need him in the ruck sometimes.

I think Polak should but I'm not too sure he could play there. Same with Clive!

prob polak, Jlo or even a resting pavlich

I think J-Lo will spend most of his time at FF and only ruck occasionally. After all, we'll already be playing with 2 ruckmen in 211 and Snake.

Paul Medhurst/ JLo combo

For that to work, everytime J-Lo goes to mark, Medhurst MUST and I repeat MUST be roving it to get a quick snap at goal. If both Medhurst and Farmer did that, we'd be practically unstoppable!

Polak on the other hand prevents Medhurst and Farmer from doing that as he generally marks the ball, allowing Medhurst and Farmer to play their natural game

And the problem with someone taking marks inside 50 is?

If only Polak could just kick straight.

Nothing, I'm saying it's a good idea as we don't seem to be doing it now! It also means Medhurst can play his natural game of getting the ball and making leads instead of having to be roving J-Lo all the time!

Guys talking about this subject last nite with a couple of the lads , Mathew Pavlich seems to be an X- Factor this season. In the past he has been touted a natural forward but has played in defense & midfield cause CC has felt we were defficient there. Now we seem to be more than adequate in filling the roles in all the postions in those 2 particular categories , Pavlich who seemed to be quiet V Essendon & a non starter yesterday , may well could be a forward option this year . The only thing this maybe do is render Clive an emergency. If Pavlich was thrown in the forward mix geez alot of clubs would be stretched.
