Ok, from what I've seen it has to be James (Charlie) Manson. He was so funny to watch in his kicking style and just the way he enjoyed his footy, he is number 1 for me.

2.Billy Picken, to watch him play and be on the fence as a kid and watch and hear him play he was a classic. I would have loved to hear him better on the field as he use to commentate on the game, "Watch out her comes BILLY".

I am old enough to remember Picken and Manson ...

... but my vote would easily go to Dane Swan.

He can just sit there in a press conference beside the coach and say nothing and he cracks me up :)

I think part of it has to do with footy being so professional these days, you hardly see any larrikins anymore. And on that rare occasion when you do - like Dane Swan - they just seem such a breath of fresh air.

I once read an article written by Heath Scotland that had me in stitches. Very dry sense of humor.

For slapstick, it would be Manson. Such an awkward looking footballer.

Swanny is a pisser, he doesn't look too fussed does he?

Swan, hands down Swan. Every one of his appearances on Before the Game, made the cast (Hughesy, Mick Molloy etc.) Look so second rate!

i have no evidence at all (just vision from IN B&W), but something tells me shae mac is at the club for his ability to lighten the mood, to click a player back into the right frame of mind if they are down.
daisy & swan are the ones who get the media attention, but i believe shae is likely very quick witted. and thats the reason i think we persevere with him. just to keep the place chirpy. dont need any more internationals on the list at present.

Sam Kekovich. Only played 4 games for us in 1977. But the guy is a legend and Australian Icon. I also love BT both for his commentary and onfield actions.

That is hilarious.

I think if we are talking the funniest on field antics, BT must win.

Definitely Billy Picken... an absolute nutter on a footy field.

Crackers Keenan - the biggest lunatic ever to play the game.

OK, didn't play for us but he was our ruck coach during the late-1980s and 1990. I remember cracking up listening to him talking about waiting for the Matthews square-up during evening training in the semi-dark at Vic. Park (apparently in retaliation for a cheap shot he'd put on him some 10 years back).
