Seen the power of Simpsons and DBZ rise up from the depths of the Entertainment board to the powerhouse that is the GD board.
It's a brilliant show and underrated, it will always be in the Simpsons shadow but being closely linked to that show is a feat in itself. Quote away fellow Futurama fans

Fave characters: Morbo and Hedonism bot. Favourite "popular" character has to be Zapp Brannigan though. I think a lot of people know how funny Zoidberg is but I think he gets forgotten at times. I think Hermes picked up in season 6 as well.

Favourite episodes: Jurassic Bark, The Sting, Mars University, Clockwork Origin and The late Phillip J Fry. Also liked the tales of interest eps too.

Got some season 6 ones in there, thought those ones were brilliant. I love how futurama can have such laugh out loud episodes then have those emotional type ones like The Sting and Jurassic Bark.

The quickest way to a girls heart is through her parents. Have sex with them and you're in.

I'm gonna go build my own theme park! With blackjack and hookers! In fact, forget the park!"

I prefer Futurama to even old school Simpsons, big call yes, but it is my favourite show.

Favourite main characters would have to be Bender, Zapp and Zoidberg. And of the more 2nd tier characters it would have to be: Hedonism Bot, Roberto and Hypnotoad, all hail the hipnotoad

Favourite Episodes: Amazon Women in the Mood, Luck of the Fryish, The Prisoner of Benda, The Farnsworth Parabox, way too many to name them all because most of them are excellent.

A great show, but i've always felt the Simpsons had far stronger 2nd and 3rd tier characters. admittedly the Simpsons had a far longer run to create and develop these characters.

I hate the sad ones :(

The Amazonians (sp?) was a good one.

and the one where Bender is in outer space and is God.

So much funny quotes in it.

Bender

You know what Mint Berry I actually agree with you in regards to Futurama >Old school simpsons. I just think the humor is more "today" than Simpsons is, not that I don't find Simpsons funny as shit though. I may need to revisit the episodes again though.

How could I forget Amazon Women in the Mood - best male episode ever.

Simpsons Prime >>> Futuramas Prime

However, the average quality of all Futurama episodes > Average quality of all Simpsons episodes
Simply because the new Simpsons episodes are terrible. Futurama was never given a chance to go stale I guess..

The movies and the new series have been pretty lame (with the exception of that one where they keep going forward in time, which was excellent).

I don't think it's fair to compare the two. Futurama is much more about a developing narrative, and is even a different kind of humour in a lot of ways. The Simpsons is probably the more accomplished show, but I will always prefer the other.

Good news everyone, I've just invented a device that causes you to read this post in Professor Farnsworth's voice.

Works like a charm! :D:thumbsu:

**** you. Now I'm reading everything in Farnsworth's voice. Which just now has reminded me of the Morgan Freeman voice effect. Now my mental voice is a mix of Morgan Freeman and Professor Farnsworth. :o

I'll give you the movies were lame, except i thought the first was pretty decent. I wouldn't say this new season is lame, the first couple were OK then it got pretty good and fell off for the last 3 or so. I thought the travel one was awesome and the origin one was brilliant. On that note i'll add one of my favourite quotes.

that's actually freaky. I also read that in Farnsworth's voice.

'Ride the Walrus'

Favourite episodes are Time Keeps On Slippin' and Luck of the Fryrish. One thing that Futurama definitely has over The Simpsons is the quality of the DVD audio commentaries, David X. Cohen is great.
