and if one gets injured play Jon there - he is only one cm shorter, 5 kilo's lighter but 3 years younger. don't keep more there as an injury back up, keep a younger player who is developing as those sort of "break glass incase of emergency" types.

i don't think moore is useless or anything - i think he has been ok this season - but i think mcguane is a better player and has more room and time for improvememnt

And if we get 2 injuries? We have complained for so long because of a lack of depth of KPPs at the club and now we're finally building some. If Moore doesn't play well for the rest of the season then I'm fine with letting him go, but if he puts in good performances then let's keep him. It gives us depth (having a player that can play now, not a kid that will get beaten), it provides competition for those in the side.

Thursfield is probably not a stay at home type of player.

He did so well on Nick Riewoldt because he could run with him all day and cover the same ground.

Standing one on one Luke McGuane may be better, but I don't remember Thursfield well enough to make the call.
I agree benny, I think if you anchor Thursfield at Full Back, you loose his natural talent, which is being able to run all day. That being said, I think that it will depend what type of player is playing Full Forward as to the match up. If you have your bigger types such as Gehrig, Lynch etc, I think McGuane would be a better option, whereas a Lloyd/Hall matchup would suit Thursfield.

thats a ridiculous theory. you want to keep 3-4 fairly average 3rd tall defenders in case 1 or 2 gets injured? better off having 4 guys who can play full back or centre half back and 2, 3rd defenders - as any player who can play FB or CHB can play a 3rd tall also - covering 3 postions instead of two.

Moore can only be a third tall defender - he is to short and light to play any other position.

its that exact theory which has stuffed the club up with the likes of ray hall & vardy being allowed to stay on the list too long. if moore has a blinder of a season - then sure, keep him on - but if he just maintains his current level this season, and his past seasons - i have doubt he will be worth keeping.

He's not too short, he's of a similar height to Glass, Rutten and Scarlett. He is certainly too light at the moment though.

You only need to look at our ruck division to see how dangerous it is to be short in a position. Until we have more kids coming through, Moore should stay.
