Fyfe's height

why???

Midfielders are a dime a dozen

Players with marking ability like Fyfe are very rare.
your not wrong about his marking ability,so rare.
if fyfe does grow another 2 or 3cm and bulks upto around 90kg +.
harvs will have no choice but to play fyfe as our CHF.i believe he will not have to be as bulky as the modern day key forward,as he is so agile and athletic, added with his supreme endurance.good luck to key defenders to keeping fyfe to under 3 or 4 gls per game.

I can sort of see why you'd like him as a key forward but he's such a genius around stoppages I see him as the classic modern day midfielder. Runs from end to end takes marks, sets up play, wins ball at stoppages, drifts forward to kick a couple.
Like Sheedy used to say about Hird, you don't coach him just let him do whatever he wants.

Loved what Healy said during the telecast "Last year Freo were worried he (Fyfe) was too small to play AFL, well he looks like he's put on about 1/2 kilo and he's dominating the competition".

I have to say the ignorance of the general footy public is shocking at times. There was a group behind me yesterday who were calling him a hack and jeering every time he got the ball saying he's a clanger king. I tried to explain the philosophy of high risk high reward decision making but they just kept saying he's overrated.

He's a gun footballer - but his last 3-4 weeks have been riddled with turnovers. I appreciate the risk/reward factor - but i don't reckon that explains his last month.

However - for people to bag one of the most exciting talents in the league, from their own team no less, beggars belief

whatever happens (career mid or CHF) we have got ourselves a freak.:thumbsu:

I would love to know what his wingspan is. In following the NBA draft, they tend to talk about wingspan much more than height, and seems to have a much higher rating of importance. When talking KPP I think wingspan would be of similar importance.

Wingspan??? Ché???

Either way you measure it, Fyfe has a wingspan that enable him to take off the ground and make enough height to take a screamer just short of the ball hitting the roof at Etihad. :p

I think he would be pretty satisfied with 190cm considering how small he was as a kid. He seemed like he would never be big enough for senior footy though really shot up in height through his last few years of school.

jumps like natanui though, unbelievable athlete:thumbsu:

If we settle our midfield, Fyfe to FF for me.
Dunstall, Lockett, Fevola, A Lynch ... Fyfe. Just can't quite picture him at FF.

I can picture hm winning a Browlow in the midfield if he can add 5 kgs to the his core and shoulders.

If we settle the midfield, I want Pavlich back on the forward line with Bradley and ruckman drifting forward. Add in Mayne, Ballas and De Boer as the small forwards who can defend and we are laughing.

Def not full forward.

Get him watching tapes of hird.
Tell him your a forward with a licensce to roam free into midfield whenever you want.
Just try to stick to the attacking half of the field.
Unless needed in close games down back or to provide a target at kickins.
So basically what hes doing now.
But starting position is hff an prefer him to be recieving kicks from midfielders not kicking from midfield to forwards.

This is my ideal forwardline
Ballantyne Keps/resting ruck Mayne
Deboer Pav Fyfe.

Gives us some great marking ability incase we need to just bomb it in there under pressure.
Gives us plenty of mobility to pressure an chase.
An also guys dangerous at ground level.

I never want to see 2 ruckman types in our forwardline an yes i call Keps a ruckman type.
So that means no Keps an Sandi etc at the same time.
