You can just tell they took the rest of the day off after that.

Reckon it's an accident, no motive here. Wait and see I guess. He's getting railroaded by the media atm.
Claims that she tried to climb down to the next balcony down when he wouldn't let her leave. Police also allege that there is a recording of the whole thing.

Guess we will have to wait for the committal hearing.

Read his posts on the bodybuilding forum. His user name was G T and he was an absolute creep. Posted stories about girls shutting him down so he would physically pick them up to scare them.

Had posts about all the surveillance he did at home with cameras and recording stuff on his phone too. Could be in trouble.

Read that too, but if it's the same one he didn't do it to intentionally scare her, he's just a ****ing moron. I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to pick her up she freaked out, kicked and fell.

Turns out he's not just a body builder but also a massive *anker. Who would have thought?

at the rate it is going it won't even goto trial.

I love the way the girl has barely been mentioned, though apparently she is as pure as the driven snow.

I suppose it's a reminder to always wait for all facts before jumping to conclusions, that said I still think there is more to come out.

August 8: Hours before the fall

0.24am - Six photos are taken on Mr Tostee's balcony with a Canon A550 camera.

0.55am - A sound recorder is activated on a device allegedly owned by Mr Tostee. Police are uncertain what was used to record the audio, but say the file appeared to have been transferred to a Sony XPeria phone, which was later seized.

0.56am - Recording commences. Music is heard and 20 seconds into the recording a male states, "F--- me".

1.02am - Male asks female to "chill and have a drink". Female says she is "psycho drunk and not to test her".

1.05-1.08am - The pair talk about death. Males says: "Throw me off the balcony and that is it. This is it boom."

1.16-1.20am - Laughing and sounds of hitting is heard. Music continues to play in the background and there are soft sounds of groaning.

1.29am - Male: "I don't like getting beaten up."

1.36am - Argument begins when female says she is leaving and can't find her iPhone. She says: "Are you going to f---ing untie me because I will f---ing destroy your jaw."

1.38am - Male: "I should have never given you so much to drink. I thought we were going to have fun?". He then asks her to "calm down".

1.41am - Male asks female to stay, but says "you are just a bit violent". He offers to cook some food. The conversation calms down.

1.53am - Drinks are poured.

2.00am - The occupant of the apartment below Mr Tostee is woken by the noise, according to her police statement.

2.10am - Back to the audio recording. Male tells female to relax and threatens to "kick her arse".

2.11am - There are sounds of a struggle. A minute later, the sound of rocks possibly being thrown in the apartment is heard.

2.14am - Male: "That is enough. You have worn out your welcome. You have to leave."

Female, out of breath: "OK."

2.15am - Male: "I thought you were kidding and I have taken enough. This is f---ing bullshit...You are lucky I haven't chucked you off my balcony you god damn psycho little bitch."

2.16am - The female, who is breathing heavily, accuses him of being "sexist". She then says "lay off", to which the male replies "seriously what".

2.17am - Male: "You're a god damn psycho. I am going to let you go. I am going to walk you out of this apartment just the way you are. You are not going to collect any of your belongings. You are just going to walk out and I am going to slam the door on you, do you understand? If you try and pull anything, I'll knock you out...do you understand?"

Female: "I am so sorry."

Male: "I don't care."

August 8: The fall

2.17am - Sounds of struggling and heavy breathing are heard. Male: "Let go of it. Let it go. Let go. Let go".

2.18-2.19am - First choking sounds are heard. Breathing slows. Male: "Let it go". Sounds of a metallic object dropping is heard.

2.20am - Door unlocks and then female states: "No". Sound of the glass door possibly being hit.

2.20am - Male: "Who the f--- do you think you are? Hey?"

Female: "No, no, no. No! no, no, no."

Male: "You tried to kill me huh? Well why did you try and hit me with that huh? Shut your filthy mouth."

Female (screaming): "No, no, no, no, no."

Male: "It's all on recording you know. It is all being recorded."

Female: "No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Just let me go home."

Male: "I would but you have been a bad girl."

Sounds are then heard of the door slamming shut. Police allege Mr Tostee has gone inside and left Ms Wright on the balcony.

Female: "Just let me go home. Just let me go home."

2.21am: Female's final words are "Just let me go home". Faint screaming is heard.

August 8: The aftermath

2.21am (approx) - The occupant of the apartment below Mr Tostee's hears a female repeatedly shouting "no, no, no" and then sees "two legs dangling down".

"In a matter of seconds I saw the person fall from the balcony above mine," her witness statement says.

2.21am - A call is placed from Gable Tostee's phone to his lawyer, Michael Purcell. The call doesn't connect.

2.23pm - A triple-0 call is placed by the woman in the apartment below.

2.25am - Police arrive at the scene. At the same time the fob key to Mr Tostee's apartment is activated.

2.28am - CCTV cameras capture a male, believed to be Mr Tostee, approach the front entrance of the apartment. He walks back to the elevator and rides to the basement.

2.29-3.08am - Sounds of walking are heard in the audio recording, which is still going from earlier in the night.

3.10am - Male orders pizza. "Um a piece of supreme please," he says.

3.23am - Call is placed to Mr Tostee's father, Gray Tostee.

Male: "Hello Dad. I might have a bit of a situation. See um I met up with a girl for a date tonight and she started getting really aggressive. It was alright at first and like we, you know, had sex in bed and she kept drinking and I think that she thought that it was like a joke or something, and she kept like beating me up and whatever. It was cos she was really drunk and whatever and I like forced her out on the balcony and I think that she might have jumped off."

Dad: "Oh no."

Male: "Like I have been walking around and there are a million cops around my building. I'm f---ed. I don't know what to do...I didn't cause this, like, I didn't push her...It is really f---ed up...Dad like this is not my fault."

Male: "I don't know like I tackled her on my floor inside the building and I never forced her over the edge."

Dad: "I am sure you wouldn't have mate."

3.25-3.34am - The pair continue to talk. The male repeatedly says he did not cause the woman's death. Dad agrees to drive and pick the male up.

3.47am - Another call is placed to Mr Tostee's father. A sound of a car door opening and seatbelt being put on is heard. Dad tells the male they "need to ring Bill Potts". (Mr Potts runs the law firm representing Mr Tostee.) Dad offers to take the male to hospital, but he declines. Dad identifies "Gable" as the male on the recording.

3.52am - Gable states: "I might have locked her out on my balcony cos there is like a lock. I can't remember what I did but I absolutely did not throw her off my balcony. I would never do anything like that."

3.55am - Gable: "The last thing I remember is she was just like hitting me for some reason."

4.04am - Gable: "I do have photos of her and me...I don't have any proof of her being aggressive though."

Dad: "Well when the truth comes out."

Gable: "How?"

Dad: "It will. You had no motive for you to hurt her."

4.07-4.15am - The pair discuss where Dad will park the car. Gable says it should be stopped in a residential area and not a shopping centre because "they will do patrols".

4.15am - Gable: "I did turn on the voice recorder I think. Are you gunna like stop somewhere?"

Dad: "I'll stop here."

4.15am - The recording terminates.

11.30am - Mr Tostee and lawyer Mr Purcell attend Surfers Paradise Police Station. Mr Tostee refuses to participate in the police interview. Police order a forensic examination, where a doctor discovers a number of small wounds on Mr Tostee's body. Mr Tostee is released without charge.

August 9

9.10pm - Police search a Toyota Avalon parked outside Mr Tostee's father's house. They find a Sony XPeria mobile phone in the driver's side door compartment. The audio recording is later retrieved from the phone, but it appears the recording initially had been made on a different device.

August 11

An autopsy of Warriena Wright is conducted. Preliminary indications are unlikely to determine whether Ms Wright was hurt prior to her fall, due to the extensive nature of injuries sustained.

August 15

Police attend Mr Tostee's parents home in Carrara and arrest Mr Tostee. He is taken to Surfers Paradise Police Station. Again he does not participate in the police interview.

Mr Tostee is charged with murder and remanded in custody.

I love how he goes from a tough guy holding a woman against her will, to a scared private school suckarse calling his dad and lawyer as soon as he realises he's ****ed up.

What a campaigner.

Wonder how many people have to die because of this wave of modern chauvinism.

LOL. You are a funny guy.

Tostee should be counting his lucky stars he is a creep who turns on a recorder every night. The general public like our mate "The Coup" would have had him hung by now if they had their way.

I'm basing that opinion off the recording.

He deprived someone of their liberty and that deprivation directly led to their death (that's if he DIDNT just throw her off the balcony), he should be completely screwed. Some of you guys are freaking me out: He clearly threatened violence against her multiple times, including specifically to throw her off the balcony. The audio recording doesn't appear to absolve anyone of anything and he wont' even give a statement to the police.

And do you disagree that the change in tone between phone calls is quite striking?

Locking someone on a balcony isn't murder.

He clearly has a mild form of autism / asbergers but sounds like the girl was a bit of a nut too.

Death by misadventure for me, which happens more often than you'd think. People don't need to goto jail for accidents. The ex-olympic gold medalist in the marathon died in similar circumstances. Drunk people around balconies is always a bad thing.

He threatened to throw her off the balcony, and nothing in the recording seems to absolve him of actually doing it either.

He's a violent misogynist who threatens women with violence and deprives them of their liberty, time to call a spade a spade.

I'm happy for the courts to decide between murder and manslaughter, but he's getting done for one of them you'd think.

He seems pretty damn vacant, but being shallow doesn't mean he's disabled. Most of those bb.com types are shallow, insecure mysoginists, just MRA's in denial. :)

Threatened to throw her off balcony, made multiple threats of violence. Refuses to let her go home when she asks repeatedly, and again by threat of violence.

Locks her on balcony, yet she says "let me go home" again (to nobody I guess) before she died. this is interesting to me:

Male: "I would but you have been a bad girl."

Sounds are then heard of the door slamming shut. Police allege Mr Tostee has gone inside and left Ms Wright on the balcony.

Female: "Just let me go home. Just let me go home."

2.21am: Female's final words are "Just let me go home". Faint screaming is heard.

I wonder if Mr Tostee has some mates in the police force, and I'm definitely keen to find out what his old man does. No statement to the police at all, yet he had a lawyer he could call within 2 minutes of the incident? he might simply have good representation, but the police seem to be advocating for him.

Even the prosecution is working on the theory he wasn't on the balcony when she fell. She was drunk and not thinking straight, so she was probably trying to climb down to the next level, which is bad idea sober, let alone completely shitfaced like both of them were. She was on the balcony for about 2 minutes with Tostee inside the house, its not like she was there for ages. Not enough time for a rational person to climb on a 14 story balcony.

Based on the recording it is pretty clear he was inside the house when she fell.
