Are Gaff and Masten both looking at being the two AA starting wingmen so far this season, they have been excellent this year!

Gaff the only obvious one for us so far.

If you haven't made AA before, you need to put in a monumental year. Masten, Shep, etc need to lift/maintain for the entire season. Even then Shep will probably miss as he doesn't get enough of it to make it as a small/mid back. Hurn more likely than Shep on reduced numbers. Masten will need to play out of his skin.

Once you have made AA it becomes easier to get in future years.

If McGovern strings together a few good games against our upcoming opposition, his underwhelming start to the season will be completely forgotten and he will start making AA lists.

Kennedy just needs to kick goals. If he finishes 1st or 2nd in the Coleman he will make it.

I'd have Gaff and Shep as locks at the moment with Darling, Lecras and Hurn around the mark. Nic Nat is always a chance due to hype.

Nic Nat no chance with the way Grundy is playing.

Sheppard should get the nod this year on current form. He’s our best defender and one of our best players.
Sheppard deserved more than one vote.

I made a thread on here in 2016 about Gaff’s poor kicking efficiency and how it was hurting us - well guess what, he’s operating at career-best D.E. this season @ 79% (up from 74% last season).

And that’s despite proportionately *increasing* his contested possession numbers (32% of possessions, up from 23% last year). Getting the ball more inside and maintaining your disposal efficiency is good, increasing it is doubly impressive.

Well done Gaffy. My prediction? AA on lock assuming nothing goes wrong (no more Jonas style hits thanks).

Let’s hope we can afford to keep him over here with all the free agency headhunting he’ll get.

Shep and Hurn are our best bets so far this year.

Lecca and Gaff (maybe Darling) would be in the squad. I have Sidey and Macrae as the wingers atm. Sidey has played more in the middle but is easily able to play on the wing Funnily enough Gaff playing a lot of inside footy too.

I think Shep and Gaff are our best chances this year.

Masten while much much improved is nowhere near AA.

Pretty much this post

Masto has been playing great footy for 3 weeks. If he keeps up last 2 week's form, he'd be in contention for the 40-man squad I have no doubt.

Just looks more comfortable out there; fitter, very clean hands and quick decisions, even against squads bringing the type of pressure that recently made him shit the bed. I presume this is S. Mitchell's influence.

Oh yeah and Gaff is a beast. Not surprised in the slighest. Always voiced the opinion he'd be a constant improver over 10 years +

Hurn is over due for a AA spot simply by being consistent but this year seems to be attacking more. Jetta taking the kicks from behinds has freed up Hurn more.

Bunga Imo would be the type of player that would have had a couple AA's if he played in Melbourne. Rory Liard is elite but frankly Hurn hurts more with his touches but will miss out on AA as he doesn't really get midfield numbers.
