I'll agree we coped with the loss well, but Sheed doesn't have the endurance or the foot skills to take his spot long term. Remember Gaff regularly racks up 17+ kms in games with more than 90% TOG.

Those stats are rubbish because all the finals we were playing with JK and Darling, meaning we could cover the loss for Gaff.

A lot of the year when Gaff was playing he played without Darling or JK to kick to, again weakening his win rate.

I think we were 13-1 with Kennedy and 13-0 with both Kennedy and Darling. We were also 14-0 with Ashley Hansen in 2006. More love for the big ging.

More significant is that with both Kennedy and Darling missing we went 1-3, which is 1-4 if you count the Melbourne game where Darling played 5 minutes.

Those guys are important for us and it's much harder to replace two gun key forwards than any one mid. With both in for all 25 games we wouldn't be a 25-0 side, but with both out for all 25 we'd probably win fewer than half.

Fun fact: JK's last goalless game was the 2015 GF. That was his only goalless game in the last 4 seasons.
