Gai vs Singo

There's nothing like a Sydney high society stoush to bring out the worst in people. For our entertainment. :D

Snob and a failed actress

The lawyer for former jockey Allan Robinson has attacked Gai Waterhouse for being a "snob’’ and a ‘‘failed actress’’ after the champion trainer called his client a ‘‘trumped up little jockey’’ during an explosive NSW Racing stewards’ hearing in Sydney on Monday.
Lawyer Chris Murphy claimed that superior airs and graces exhibited by the Waterhouse clan, including Waterhouse and her bookmaker son Tom, made him sick.
He then launched his own verbal attack on Gai Waterhouse, telling ABC Radio : ‘‘Gai is a failed actress who married a perjurer.’’

I love it.

I was headed to Randwick on the day but my neck has got to fat for my tie so I just went to the pub so I missed the action.

There is nothing more sickening than having to hear "Racing's first lady", "Queen of Australian racing" etc etc etc when dick heads in the media and assorted racing types refer to Gai Waterhouse.

Chris Murphy is dead right about the Waterhouse clan and if the authorities in New South Wales were dinkum about justice over a whole range of matters, the Waterhouse clan would be in serious trouble ALLEGEDLY! I have to highlight allegedly 'cause, http://www.news.com.au/sport/superr...-defies-the-odds/story-fndps3qy-1226634987241

Gai's old man ended up being hated by the large majority of Sydney racing people and his daughter is well on the way to emulating her late father but thing is though, the clan that she has amalgamated with know where many, many skeletons are buried ALLEGEDLY so don't hold your breath that anyone will try and scratch the surface of some rather baffling cases.

This stoush between Gai and Singo has been brewing awhile; according to a friend in Sydney who knows the Waterhouses.

The week before all this came out I was discussing Tom Waterhouse's betting offers around his mother's horses and wondered it there was any 'knowledge' passed on from mother to son, about the horses.

An opinion piece really saying 'nothing to see here ... move on'...

You could call it a Shakespearian or Greek tragedy or more accurately, a Roman circus., You’d be talking about the John Singleton-Gai Waterhouse-Tom Waterhouse fracas-melee-brouhaha-controversy with special guest supporting players Andrew Johns, Allan Robinson and Eddie Hayson.
Non-racing outsiders have decried the media’s overblown coverage, saying it presages a media future in which trivia is given precedence over important issues.
And they’re right.
At the end of it all, Gai Waterhouse will probably be fined for not notifying stewards of treatment to More Joyous.

Tom didn't get a penalty but it was suggested to him he doesn't play on his famous name for his betting business

Couldn't give a stuff about who was right and who was wrong a couple of weeks ago, but this was classic Sydney. Loud mouth advertising executive and all round good guy who is a drunk, darling of the track, dodgiest bookmaker family, ex jockey, celebrating criminal lawyer, an ex rugby league star, a brothel owner, the wife of an ex world boxing champ etc etc.

a light penalty ?

RACING NSW stewards have issued Hall of Fame trainer Gai Waterhouse with a $5500 fine after being found guilty on two charges relating to the More Joyous saga.

Stewards have found Waterhouse guilty of both charges - failing to report More Joyous's condition and failing to keep proper records of the treatment given to the champion mare - prior to the Group 1 All Aged Stakes at Royal Randwick last month.

She was fined $5000 for the first charge and $500 for the second.

Waterhouse has not yet decided whether she will appeal the ruling.

AFL boss slams bookie, network over ads

Ed Jackson, AAPUpdated May 28, 2013, 3:06 pm

AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou has taken a veiled swipe at bookmaker Tom Waterhouse and Channel Nine for their promotion of live betting odds during broadcasts.

Waterhouse's regular appearances on the broadcaster during NRL matches in 2013 is believed to have played a key role in Prime Minister Julia Gillard initiating moves to ban the promotion of live betting odds during sports match telecasts.

Demetriou says the AFL would support any ban but he felt the move was being forced on major sporting codes because "one network" flaunted previous self-regulation measures that had been working well in his opinion.

While the AFL boss didn't name names, he clearly had Waterhouse and Nine in his sights when speaking to reporters on the Gold Coast on Tuesday.
