Yeah he was ******* awful :rolleyes: 18 cheap possessions, 5 tackles, including 12 fluked contested possessions at a flukish 83% DE

Selwood and Duncan clearly had a better game than him :drunk:

Nobody's doubting that he will come good, I just suspect his price will drop a fair bit before he does.
 
All preseason people doubted him.

He came out Round 1 and outscored Pendles, Fyfe, Jelwood, Beams, JPK, Priddis, Ward. The only two players priced 600+ who did better were Sloane and Sidebottom, which practically no-one has in their sides. Sidebottom is out for six weeks and Sloane may as well have been playing against the Bombers side in the NAB Challenge.

Now people are critising GAJ because "he didn't look right", "he got two goals late". Really? Is that the best you've got? Sloane scored 145. Does that not count because he had no opposition?

Perhaps people should stop bagging the best player to ever don the SC cape. Even if we accept your ridiculous arguments, he still outscored all your "Premo alternatives". Gary is king, even with only one arm, and I hope you all trade him out of your sides.

50 odd of his points came from two goals. That's not just unusual, that's bullshit.

To be fair to Sloane they played last year's preliminary finalists.

Here we go again. I really wish people did their research. The amount of times people say this is absurd.

Lowest score for the entire year in 2013 was against Melbourne (17th) - Scored 67
Second lowest score was against St Kilda (16th) - Scored 90
Highest score for the entire year in 2013 was against Collingwood (6th)
Scored 149 against Hawthorn, eventual Premiers.

Average against top 8 sides, 132
Average against bottom 10 sides, 126

Good in theory, facts tend to disagree though.

In fairness to Fyfe, crazy Rossy parked him up forward for most of the game and only moved him in to the middle when it looked like they'd lose.
 
I would recommend doing the opposite to Robbo. In SC and in life

Even more reason to keep him. When I look at my weekly score, it shows 119. It doesn't matter how those points came to be.

Having said that, this is one of the problems with live scoring. When he kicked the goals they would have been highly weighted as they bough GC within a goal. By the end of the game, that weighting would have been reduced and he would have only got 25 odd for those two goals. Live scoring gives you false information. Like Zac Clarke scoring 36 points for taking a mark and handballing to a team mate in the third quarter on Sunday night (missed that no doubt?)

What they did last year is irrelevant. If North play the way they did on Sunday all year, they won't win a single game.

I have Ablett and I won't be trading him next week unless unless he doesn't play. Need to at least him him until the price changes hit. Gives you another week to see how he is travelling.

I'd back Carlton if the game was tomorrow.

That was the worst performance I've seen by an AFL team for quite a while, and I'm a Melbourne supporter so that's saying something.

North were also smashed round 1 last season, made the prelim.

Smashed? They got beaten by 6 goals by a side that qualified for the finals the year before. Not got annihilated by 12 goals by a bottom 10 side.

They kicked 9.6 and lost the possession count by almost 2 to 1, the score didn't indicate the difference between the teams that day.

The difference in possession was because we kicked it backwards every chance we got.
