Can't bare the thought of trading Gazza out but if I do will do something like this -

$42,600 currently in the kitty.

A) Ablett > Wines and Cripps > Docherty via MPP Saad

B) Ablett > Sloane and Cripps or Miller > Van Berlo

Which is the better option of the 2? o_O

If you think you've got cash generation covered with other rookies and are keen on Docherty back him in. NVB will only need to be upgraded and regular 70-80's are just around the corner.

And this stupidity about being hammered for trading any premium in Round 1 is mental and needs to stop IMO, useless "advice" if you ask me. If you're trading out someone like Martin or Griffen after their games last week then that is stupidity. They had a bad game, nothing more, nothing less. .....
How completely hypocritical. Unless you've finished in the top 10 for the past five years in a row, it's fair to say you're in no position to offer anything more than an opinion.

At the end of the day, anything you read on this board is an opinion. It's up to you to weigh up all the advice and make your own decision. I traded out Dusty, but I did so in order to allow me to get Hogan in to my side. IMO holding Dusty and missing out on Hogan was a bad move. I'm completely happy with my trade, even after Dusty's 138 or whatever and have 0 regrets. It's also allowed me to move Cripps to Swan and Goodes to Docherty. I knew I'd need to make three trades in the first two weeks to make corrections, therefore I had to make a trade last week to free up cash.

I wanted to wait on GAJ because of who he is. He's earnt the right over the years to be given a chance IMO. I'm still not convinced trading GAJ is the right move. He'll end up in your side by the end of the year even if you do trade him out, so that's two trades spent. He had a pretty hard tag on him last night, and the rest of his team didn't given him much support.

Personally I've already put forward hundreds of opinions this year alone. No doubt some will be proven right and some will be proven wrong. Coming in to this thread and saying "hahah you are all w***ers, I told you so" is just plain childish. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and this board wouldn't exist without them. Your opinion is no more valid, nor invalid, than anyone else on this board. Whether you turn out to be correct, or incorrect is irrelevant too. I argued extensively against Furphy and Wingard before last season. People still chose to take them. They were flops, but I didn't come on here saying how good I was because I got it right and everyone else were useless because they took those players. Hindsight is brilliant, we're all experts in that arena. You say trade him, they say keep him; there's nothing wrong with that. So please, do not sit there and take pot shots at other people just because they give an opinion you don't agree with.

Cost 92, averaged 106 (was ave 110 up until injury game of rd 22).

42% of top 100 teams had him in.

I agree with the sentiment of your overall post, but not this part.

A 106 season average (20 games) from a player priced at a 92 average (501k) is not a "flop" by any stretch.

Now I'm not just saying that because it's Murphy, because for instance had I selected A Swallow this year at the same price & he went on to net me the exact same return, I'd be stoked.

Gee some big decisions needed now regarding Gazza.

He looked terrible and there is no doubt his shoulder is still stuffed. :(

What to do?? Trade him before he drops 50k at least this week or ride him out but the days of an automatic Captains lock are finished for now.

Answer text u bum!

Def trading out Gazza and either of Cripps/Goodes this week.... Who's more valuable to grab before price rises..... NVB, Vandenberg or Docherty?
I'm also keen on Buddy after yesterday's rampage.....

Thinking Gazza to JPK, Pendles, Sloane, Selwood or Lewis..... Then bring in either NVB, VDB or Docherty for Goodes or crisp....
Thoughts appreciated cheers guys

I'm arguing for everyone thinking for themselves, instead of being told exactly what to do. I offered an opinion contrary to the "keep Ablett he'll make you look stupid if you trade him" brigade and was hammered on this thread and a couple of others. I watched his game against Melbourne and tried to argue that he looked terrible and only scored well for his last quarter heroics. Apparently this made me an Ablett hater, despite the fact I think he's an absolute champion, and coming from a background with knowledge in human anatomy, knew it wasn't just a bad one week.

Also, weren't you the one bookmarking my posts in order to prove me wrong? Sounds like you were pretty keen on coming back and bringing a bit of "Hahahaha I proved you wrong" yourself.
Pot. Kettle. Black.

Ablett > Sloane frees up soooooo much cash, means that the first upgrade could be done in two or so weeks.

Not sold on who I'm going to bring in yet.

I'll probably take Fyfe.

Wish I did that earlier.

I agree with this completely.

I didn't read it like that. People disagreed with you and argued against your viewpoint, no doubt, but I wouldn't say you were "hammered"

Also, weren't you the one bookmarking my posts in order to prove me wrong?
You haven't been around long, but those who have been here a while use the "bookmarked" term as a way of saying "we'll wait and see what happens instead of continuing on the argument". It's a figure of speech, no one actually does it

:)

Been around for over 10 years, not sure what's considered "long", but I'm not a rookie around here.

You may have had an account on BF for a while, but you're posting history on the SC board is adhoc at best. Three posts between March 2014 and Feb 2015 (regarding Mumford as a ruck option in August). In fact, the last few years you've posted a bit around the lead up to a season and then disappeared after Round 2. I'm not having a go at that, btw, but it does explain not understanding the "bookmark" comment ;)

Amazed at how many people want to trade in B Smith after he got stretched off and played no further part in the game.

GAJ to Bont
Goodes to docherty
(At this stage anyway but I will probably change my mind 100 times before next week)
