id like to hear some crows fans opinions on him. In my hunble opinion, i personally think he is the worst player the AFL has seen. Tonight proved that yet again i think!! Im not sure what it is about him, but he is just useless. He cannot kick, he cannot mark or handball...probably the worst facet about him, he thinks he has way too much time on his hands. So many times he gets the ball and trys to dodge 30 players or he stands dead still looking for an option and gets tackled from behind. Happened again tonight a few times. I thought (well think) Lyle is bad, but Gallagher takes the cake. The fact that he struggled in the SANFL reserves grand final proves something that he just isnt up to it i dont think.

Are you serious??

Gallacher came on in the second half, and played a great game, didnt he tag Johnson i think in the 3rd quarter, and finished him off!

Carb since we won, now you cant say bad stuff bout the team, now you target individual Players.....wats next??

QT, I love ya buddy but Macca is dead set right. While Gallagher did a reasonable jod on Johnson and got possession of the ball, I don't think it's too harsh to say his disposal is deplorable. The way he holds the ball when he kicks it means it just goes right up in the air and he thinks he's Robert Harvey, dodging and weaving with plenty of time. Invariably he just gets caught holding the ball. I hope he gets better, he's probably a good kid but someone should teach him how to kick. Jars should do a clinic on the drop punt and maybe he'll learn a few things.

He's not the worst in the league though.

All i can say is he did his job today. Stenglein was the real shaky one tonight, but he did some nice things. Robran and Ladhams superb!

And good on ya jars aswell!

He does take too long on occasion. Paradoxically, this may be exactly because he has copped criticism for burning the ball. He is at least looking for a good option.

He does find the ball a lot. Tonight he cut Johnson right out of it, and set up Ladhams for one of his goals. He got quite a bit of posession, and he did get caught twice, but got rid of it once and was only pinged with the ball once. I though he burned the bal only once or twice in all, but got it about 15 times in a half.

All in all Macca, he didn't have such a bad game tonight at all.

My question though is this - where was Eccles? I though Shir showed a lot of promise, and Stenglein was good. Edwards had a fair game and a real purple patch in the last Q. Ladhams was good. I though taking Bode off was a bit rough, he should have been given a midfield rotation. I think all of these players I mentioned might find a place in crows side ahead of Gallager.

Finally, Macca, what did you think of McGregors game at CHB on a good player in Grant? I thought not too bad at all.

I have no idea where Eccles is...could be injured, or just not in enough form to be picked. Marge...he did alright on Grant. Ive known Kenny for years, used to play with him in primary school, he isnt a natural defender, but he did alright there tonight. Shir looks a good sort...Stenglien is a ready made player i believe...edwards...still dont think much of him at all.

His Grandfather died the other day, so that probably had an effect on his performance - I didn't think he did too badly though, tonight.

I didn't think Gallagher did that bad a job tonight either. He was only on for the second half, and mananged to restrict Johnson to 3 disposals, after he'd had 11 in the second quarter alone. He also had 10 disposals of his own, and set up a great goal by Ladhams? (think it was Ladhams anyway)

He needs to get rid of the ball quicker and stop panicking when he get's it, because he's just going to keep turning it over. I thought he'd got rid of the weird kicking style over the pre-season - he kicked a great 55 metre goal last week, but tonight, it looks as if the kicking style's made a return.

If he could improve these two facets of his game, he'd be fine. He gets a lot of the ball, tackles well, but his disposal needs work...

Thanks QT, but I think its Macca who saying bad things about the team and players, not me. But I will accept your apology in advance. Infact I haven't written anything on this board for a week because I know how upset you Crows people get with us more intellegent Port people visting your board.

Let me finish by saying I have nothing against the Crows, but as far as their supporters go, well thats another story.

Sorry Carb about that, i didnt realise. And i didnt mean it in a bad way Macca, im just sick of everyone putting us down just coz weve had a few bad seasons.

David Gallagher has in the past been poor with his disposal, and I am the first to critise when he makes such errors. But I believe that it is very obvious that he is working on it. His last two games have been excellent and he should get credit when he deserves it. He never has a problem getting the ball, he just sometimes makes the wrong decisions and takes a bit to long. Last week and Last night he was terrific he gave off on his first instinct - and he found crows players on most occasions. He shut brad johnson out of the game, he did his job. I think he deserves a bit more support from crows supporters, I believe he has a long future with us and if he keeps up the good work he will be a major asset to us. Don't be so harsh, I bet you have all made mistakes in your jobs before. Go David Gallagher in 2001, keep improving my boy!!!
