Do we know if its definitely an ankle? Apparently is on his way to hospital for x-rays according to 5aa. bloody cant rely on tv coverage to give updates on injuries unless its G Ablett, Judd, Franklin etc.

I'm very worried. Need him for next year.
The replay showed an inward ankle roll, which could mean bone damage more than ligament damage (physios help here, I've done a ton of ankles about they've all been outward rolls resulting in ligament damage).

I initially thought knee the way he was hobbling, but being bone damage would explain why it wasn't a traditional ankle limp.....or just who knows.

Thoughts at Half-Time:

Second quarter was, for the most part, even better. Movement was just as quick but this time we were giving our forwards the best chance by either hitting them up or the lead or going long to 1-on-1s.

The only times Melbourne could get their hands on it were at our turnovers. Admittedly they do look dangerous when this is the case, but otherwise we are getting all the ball. Constantly first to the ball and smashing them in the clearances - boy what a difference that makes.

Pressure. Pressure pressure pressure. Love it.

The only real disappointing thing is that somehow the Demons are still in it. We should have at least got two more goals from that quarter and to let them get one after the siren (boy does this happen to us a lot) hurt. The door is ajar for Melbourne to come back, and they will if we don't hit them hard in this third quarter. Don't let their engine start boys.

Player thoughts so far:

Griffin - Good god Griff what did you eat this morning? Boy is he putting in the hard yards today. Competiting brilliantly in the ruck and even giving us something around the ground. Got caught in the headlights towards the end of the quarter but you'll let it slide purely because of everything else.

Tippett competing very, very well for us up forward. Has the sticky hands today and despite a few sloppy efforts has been working really hard for us. Just as long as he marks it 5m out straight in front there's no problem. :D

Vince looks a new man. He could have a stinker for the next half but right now he's doing a lot right. Intensity is much improved and great goal that really helped our momentum.

Symes is one of those blokes you could point out a dozen faults in, and he can kill you with some of his disposal, but boy is he doing well today. Tough, hard at it and racking up the pill. As long as he keep it to the hands he's fine. It's when it hits the boot that we have a problem.

Backline - Aside from Stevo, who is a having a bit of a downer to say the least, I think we've been superb. Tons of pressure, good spoils and great run. Armstrong (I'll excuse that poor kick that set up the goal) and Davis have been great on the rebound and boy is Truck having a day out.

Doughty has to stop going sideways and go forward. Be decisive mate. There was one moment where he took it at CHF and had three options short in the forward line. And yet he stuffed it up by being too slow to move it on. Not good enough. But then he did two attacking efforts which showed that he can still be valuable when he has an offensive mindset.

Sloane is a such a tough nut. Love the kid. Wish he got one of those goals but it'll come.

Douglas - Boy he is the most intense player out there. Gets up on his feet in a snap. Looks so much quicker and more confident out there this year.

Henderson is going to frustrate sometimes but boy does he have some speed and flair to him. Nearly kicked a Taylor Walker-esque long bomb in that second quarter and some of his extra efforts have set up goals for us. Good stuff.

Jaensch is a great mix of flair and intensity. Doesn't mind the hard stuff but has some real class about him too. Very early days in his career so it's hard to judge but he's done so great stuff today thus far.

Walker and Dangerfield both having off days. Patty can't really get near it and is under constant pressure when he does - props to Frawley and the rest of the Dees for taking down the behemoth. tex on the other hand is constantly around it but just doesn't have his touch today. Is providing contests which is good but he can take those marks and he knows it, it's just not working for him today. Looked slooooooow when that ball was near the HFF, has to be more intense. Hope he picks up.

D-Mac's injury - Seriously how many injuries can a team get in a season?

sorry for butting in here,

Does anyone know what song they were just playing during the 2010 afl highlights on foxtel?

Melbourne are insipid, how excited were they with getting 4 wins? Were not a fantastic team but were outclassing there future supposed 'powerhouse' team.

How many times this year has the ball bounced through, over, past our defenders in a getable area?

Hendooooooo. Well set up by Stevo too.

We deserved that goal, how that filthy cheat of an ump who must have put a few quid on the Dees at HT didn't give a free to Tippett I do not know.

Geez, the umpires were pretty decent in the first half, but now ...
