Jamb the cricket and shove the tennis; nothing beats gameday.
Here my slant of things to pep up this board a little.
You are made aware of the importance of the game in the days leading up to it.
You soak up the media hype attached to the possible ins and outs and matchups that will impact the game.
You cop and dish out as much as you get during the week on why your team will cream 'em.
You remember the last time we met and the could'ves and should'ves.
You know the ladder placings to the enth degree if team "a" beats team "b" and vice versa given that team "c" got done lastnight.
The weathers favourable, you must win the toss and take your chances.
If youre not able to be at the game the whole of gameday is organised towards being in front of the telly.
Youve mowed the lawn and washed the car and done all the other bits and pieces.
You set the tape up in the VCR, ready to record history.
You scream " Footys on!!" to warn all the others to get thier butts in here.
"Grab me another echo pleeease."
Your edgey and cant sit still as the boys crash through the banner and you screeeeam "Carn the Crows!!"
The pulse is starting to notch up a tad and the palms are getting sweaty.
The ads are paused from the tape as your adrenaline begins to race towards quarter time.
Smoke break--->> "Quick turn on the radio in the shed to catch the quarter time wrap"
Your emotions ride the game highs and lows until your'e starting to cramp up having played the game of your life.
Your'e no longer edgey...your'e in the crowzone where you hear but you dont listen, you answer but you're not sure of the question; your eyes are glued to the action and if you took stock and reviewed some of the plays your bias comments would seem silly.
Final siren sounds!!
Elation (of course)!! Your'e spent.
You beauty. Brisbane next week at home and hopefully Goodys injury will come up OK and plus we'll have Stevo back in after he starred yesterday in the SANFL. What a game....Cant wait for the press conference...etc
