Not sure if its been done before but anyway.

I have never been able to pass the mission in GTA-San andreas where you have to shoot down those RC planes off the roof for that zero dude. After failing about 20 times I just end up shooting zero and going crazy.

Most games, Batman, I couldn't even drive on Nascar 08.

There was one 6 lap race on the original NFS Underground that I could never pass. I tried so many times to pass it but continuously failed

I was going to put that in the OP! I passed it after like 40 times on PS2 but my mate never could on xbox. I said I'd do it easy and never could. Think it was 7 laps btw?

Good thread.
There was a late stage in manhunt that I could never pass. Sucked cos I loved that game and got quite far into it. Can't really remember how much time I put into it.

Could never beat General RAAM on Insane on Gears 1 (had in excess of 200 attempts)

Prototype, cannot pass the level where you have to protect the Thermobaric tank - have tried perhaps 30 times

The level 6 boss (I think it was level 6) on lost planet took me over 50 attempts - put the game down for about 12 months, went back and beat it first pop

Always found Oddworld: Abes Oddsey hard - got a friend to pass a few levels for me. Brought it off the PSN recently still struggling ... 10 years later

I quit playing the game for about a week after failing this mission for hours one sunday... Came back and did it then saved the game right away. One of the most frustrating weeks of my life.

That Archangel mission on Insanity in Mass Effect 2. That was so bloody annoying, it took me a day and a half to do.

Played San Andreas on PC and the flying was horrible at best, so it's safe to say the flying missions where you gotta get your pilots license took me at least 2 weeks. Gave up on it then came back. That Zero mission also gave me some trouble if I remember correctly.

My game has almost all the houses bought and been finished for 5-6yrs and I still can't pass that ****ing stage.

Prince of Persia 2. There's this skeleton on a bridge that you can't kill, he keeps coming back to life, and after a while, the entire bridge collapses. Could never ever work it out.

Oh, and the original. When you're fighting your shadow in the last level. Took me about 5 years to work out what to do. Back in those days we didn't have GameFAQs to help us out. Still not sure what compelled me to try what wound up working.

The original PC one had the skeleton you had to push back onto the crumbling floor to make him fall.

Yeah that sucked, eventually did it after 20 goes or so.

The answer to this thread is Battletoads

Given this some more thought and remembered doing the last level of Halo 3 on 4 player co-op with all the skulls on and using Ghosts to get that achievement. Took us two nights to get that done, but instead of rage it was filled with hilarity, even if we had some of the cheapest deaths. Such as the laser turrets turning on us for no reason.

The last level on Goldeneye in the hardest mode. It was required for you to unlock everything and I could NEVER pass it, always got up to where you had to kill the boss to win it and would die.

Thankfully I got a mate to do it using my memory block thing and I got all the stuff (a few of my mates used this tactic too).:D:thumbsu:

I remember that mission in SA, was very hard to get passed, took me a few goes and I think I ended up fluking it through.

This always gets a mention in hardest game/level threads.
I can't even pass the 3rd level and i've never seen it be passed with my own eyes.

The game continually gets harder after this level as well.

Yeah ****ing Battletoads killed me, the first game I thought of. Contra as well. I recently started playing Mike Tyson's Punchout as well after seeing it on a hardest games list. It's right. Impossible last stage.

Agree with whoever said Abe's Odyssey as well. I always struggled with that game when I was younger.

BTW has anyone ever finished GTA without using any cheats at all?
GTA IV I did, was the only game I didn't really feel the want to cheat.

GTA VC I used the dodo cheat over and over again, one of the best cheats to use especially using to to breach the dividing lines to get to the other island early. Flying cars ftw.

the original GTA 3, where you have to fly stupid remote controlled planes with bombs attached around a building site. FFFFUUUUUU that level sucked arse
That was GTA Vice City. It was a bitch of a level with those guys shooting at you and people with axes. I'd always do all but one then be almost done before I get blown up.
