I still enjoy this band.

Great to hear that they will have a new album out this year... its been like, 6 or 7 years? tbh i did not try the last album..but i enjoyed the singles from it.

The first two albums will always have a special place in my heart. i bought version 2.0 when i was 11. played the shit out of it. must say, its actually aged pretty well. Even with all the industrial influenced beats and fuzzed out guitars. no one really sounds like this band, maybe that's the reason why.

even if your really not into their stuff you have to admire the elite pop songcraft of songs like Milk,Only Happy When it Rains, Special, When i grow up etc.

yeah, i was always more of a shirly fan than say..gwen

she did look sassy in the queer vid:p

i guess cause it was overshadowed by the massive singles. there were about 5 from that album i think. agree though, very good song.

that debut must be one of the most 'complete' debut albums ever.

in terms of sound,style..what they wanted to acheive. prob due to the fact that butch and the lads were already seasoned musicians by the time it came to do garbage.

Vow is a ****ing awesome song! I don't relate to the lyrics anymore, but sonically I still absolutely LOVE it, especially played really loud. Those guitars are brilliant: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rb7fLA5ccWg

Really liked pretty much all the singles off that first album, but don't think I ever listened to the whole thing.
Listened to all of Version 2.0 plenty of times, though and that is easily one of my all time favourite albums. Strong song after strong song. Especially love Push It, Wicked Ways and When I Grow Up. :thumbsu:
Pretty much only heard the singles from then on, but still liked them.

Also got to see them live, for their Version 2.0 tour, at an arena in Woolongong, when I was backpacking up the east coast of Aus. They put on a really good, rocking show and Shirley certainly knew how to work a crowd. Really wish I was down on the floor for that one, especially for when she came through the middle of the crowd during one of the songs. Very enjoyable concert. :thumbsu:

have and like the first two, but after that never really grabbed me. also the special single which has some good tracks (an acoustic version of medication, and

also comfortable with the idea of fornicating with shirley

An underrated band, probably because they didn't fit into an easily-placed genre.

A bit like their peers APC, in that they were fully-formed and delivered a cracking debut. I don't know much after their first couple of albums, but I'll check their new one out for sure.

One of my favourite bands. Every song on the s/t and Version 2.0 are great. Also, Shirley Manson has done some great interviews with another favourite person of mine, Craig Ferguson.

I've always liked Garbage, especially their first two albums, but I have always considered them a third-string Curve, which is the band that is most often compared with them... at least on the forums that I converse in.
As for Shirley, I thought there was a toughness and sexiness about her, but she doesn't compare to Toni Halliday.

I was never a fan although did find Shirley Manson very attractive.

Musically they were that "Power Pop" I dislike so intensely and were only one rung above what Roxette made us suffer through years before. Butch Vig gave them street cred and Shirley gave them a very hot, sultry, lead singer who could actually sing but it just didn't work for me.

Having said all that I can understand why people did like them and I knew plenty that did.

Try not to get confused, THE CURVE are a current band and their music is reasonably easy to locate, CURVE will be harder to find.
