I WANNA KNOW WHY WE LOST AFTER A 37 QUARTER LEAD!!

Was it King got too tired, causing us to lose in the midfield and making Kosi come out of the forward?

Maybe Gardi is more important than most realise. Even if he's just in the side to give King a break.

Anyone know how long he's out for?

From what I heard he had tightness in his calf and they didnt want to risk him tearing it so I would expect him to be back for the Geelong game.. Dont write us off we will try to get back on track for the next game:thumbsu:

Footscray played really well and we were shit.

Everyone is just jumping to conclusions looking for answers.

I think Charlie Gardiner might be the key.

Provides a better lead up option across half forward and gives better chase out from the forward line.

Play Gardiner and Riewoldt on opposing flanks, Gehrig deep and 3 crumbers.

Kosi took a couple of marks early but I think the team may be better served with him rotating in the ruck with one of King and M Gardiner.

Is Riewoldt carrying an injury, seems a bit off.

- Forwardline is too tall and not functioning well
- Ruck was tired at 1/2 time
- Milne wasn't showing Hill any respect
- You seemed a midfeilder short
- Blake? was smashed by Cooney
- Robert Murphy continually got away from his man
- Dal Santo & Hayes had poor games

You need to drop Big Frazer, Bring in Charlie G. Get back Goose & M.Gardiner and find another clearance midfeilder, maybe Armitage. Then you should be alright

- Yep fair. FWIW, in the first 3 games, the 3 forwards have only been on the ground together for 37% of the time.

- I don't agree with this one. I thought King won in the ruck for nearly the whole night, but the dogs won the clearances, and this probably made King look not as good as he was. Altough, King is soft imo. Doesn't want to put his body on the line, and as a ruckman you must do it.

- Hill played on the wing for 50% of the time and even forward for a bit. Milne was hardly on him.

- We are a midfielder short I think. But when you play the dogs and their up and running, you always look a midfielder short.

- Blake was beaten, but usually does a good job on those types. Everyone was beaten tonight

- Murphy is just a very very good player.

- Agree. When Hayes isn't up and running getting clearances we are in trouble. That said, he did have 12 tackles.

Have to admit I was surprised at how the Saints were carved up after 1/4 time.
Denis Cometti said, "Their greatest strength has become thier greatest weakness tonight", and he was talking about the tall forwards. Actually, I reckon he ws referring to Fraser.
Have the Saints done the right thing bringing him back?

Bit sceptical on the value of Milne these days too...

Food for thought play Riewolt on the wing:confused: Play Kosi CHF, G-Train at FF
C Gardiner on HFF, Bring CJ or Armo in for midfield rotation, Ralph Clarke needs a spell to get his confidence back?

good question, although i was very sad when the g-string gave it away i was also very excited about playing kossie out and out FF, but with the pick up of gardner and king it means we have to play all 3 big guys at once and although it worked in the 1st quater it really did show a massive weakness once the ball hit the ground. i love the g-train but i think kossie needs more space and roo needs to play closer to home both these problems would have been solved with gehrig retiring:(.

That sounds really good. It could not be any worse than Friday night.

He's played 2 games this year.

When he kicked 4 goals last week it was a great decision to have him back.

A week later he's not up to it.

Kick a few goals in the next couple of weeks and he'll be back in the good books again.

Footy supporters. :)

No its just we've learnt to know Gehrig will kick a bag when the best defender is Setanta...

Anyone any higher skilled, eek.

Gardiner was replaced by Raph, and should have been replaced by a ruckman, even Rix. When that didn't happen, we were setting King up to be stuffed by half time.

We have to play 2 ruckmen, and one of them can't be Kosi.
