To be fair you didnt need a crystal ball to see Gaz would be a star, ill give more credit to anyone who said Stevie J would be Norm Smith or Jimmy B being a Brownlow medalist.

A good friend of mine who knew a few of the players in that draft told me on draft day after we picked him that "I reckon he'll win a brownlow"

In the 2007 preseson competition, I said that he'll be a brownlow medallist one day! I should have voice recorded it. Its like the time when i posted on big footy that Mumford would get drafted and people laughed at me!!! Well, who's laughing now!

Steady on there, I am 32, and have absolutley awsome memories, of Ablett.G, both Senior and Junior setting the G on fire. Was there for the Pies and Bombers flogging in 89, and for last weeks QF. GO CATS!

I think history will eventually show they were different play makers, but peers, both legends of the AFL.

Agree I'm 31 and have seen both.

Snr was the best player i have seen by a friggin mile.....i think we can forget too easily just how good that bloke was.

Like I always say Ablett Snr is a legend of the AFL, Ablett Jnr will go down as a legend of the GFC.

One thing about jnr, is that having seen his father play so much I just can't but help but think of GATY (gary ablett the younger) as a kid, forever coming home to his dad and just doing the lounge thing while dad cooks up something in the kitchen. Mind you, this says alot more about me than the abletts.

I think Ablett Jr will end up going down as a legend of the AFL as well. Clearly the best player in the comp at the moment and I can't see it coming to an end for some time.

I be 24 and though '89 may be a little blurry I remember plenty of the '90s!
