Nobody would disagree with this. Just make sure they don’t have a maximum weight of 75kg full developed.

You need stars for sure, but the way Lions can just make fringe players feel like they belong at the AFL level is a big skill. They could put first year players in a GF and it won't faze them.

They found gems after a bad injury run last year as well

I think watching this just emphasises how poor we were in 2022 and 24 and how those issues appeared to get worse in 2025.

Maybe you need 4 weeks of finals ? Better to lose week 1 or finish 5th with the week off ?


Papley and Hayward never turn up like Cameron Bailey etc

Midfield depth there I think we have it if they show up

Tbf, every time we've had a return GF match up this century (2003, 2005, 2006 & 2015) the result has been reversed. Still, pre-finals bye has clearly had an impact.

Think there has been some improvements in so far as winning more clearances and contested possession this year but still a ways to go

Good win for them. Very hard to back 2 back especially for a non-vic club. Done it the long way both finals series as well + injury smashed both seasons too.
Had some luck with father-sons but **** their drafting and recruiting around that has been elite too.
