Just wondering when the AFL draw will come out? I thought it was meant to be today....
Anyway, Jake Niall wrote an article about the previews to the draw and there were a few interesting points...
This is an excellent move i believe, it will mean Collingwood for example may play Melbourne and Sydney twice a season...
This will be a big match, this seasons Collingwood home match attracted over 69,000.......with it being our home match i think 60k would be the minimum attendance (unless we are going ****e).
It will be interesting to see who the other two 'home' matches will be against, most likely the rumoured Rnd 1 clash v Footscray and hopefully either Essendon or St.kilda, although a home match v Richmond would be good (although it would attract quite a few more people if it were held at the MCG).

This is something i didslike too, i think it was this season we had them all in clumps and in 2005 we had like 4 in a row (although that was mainly due to the redevlopments).Geelong, which had been drawn to play four home games consecutively at Skilled Stadium, has asked that the AFL spread out its eight games in Geelong, instead of having them in clusters.
But the most striking feature of the provisional draw, which is unlikely to change greatly before the schedule is released, is that the clubs that play each another in the first seven rounds don't necessarily play each other twice.

Geelong has been given a home game against Collingwood at the MCG, along with two Telstra Dome games and its customary eight home games at Skilled Stadium.
