it'll probably be another Xbox but you can log into Steam, Live or PSN and you can customise it with a Black, Green or Blue faceplate, making it feel like the Ultimate Gamers Choice™

Will definitely be sticking with Xbox. Essentially having a PC in my living room with access to game pass and the steam library meaning you can play PS games on your Xbox.

Then have the Xbox rog ally x which I hope to get as well.

Interesting insight into what the PS6 might look like actually. I think it was originally assumed the PS6 would be based on AMD's coming UDNA but with PSSR they might design something completely unique in collaboration.

More on this as next gen rumours start to ramp up. Still rumours but a 20% increase in pure raster performance per CU doesn't sound big but we don't know anything about the process node yet, and assuming it has shrunk it means they can squeeze in more CUs so the gains will be generational. Especially also once you factor in the alleged 2x RT performance per CU. I think we have to start thinking about performance differently than before though. I don't think it's just about raw performance anymore because it seems like unless we want to push stupid amounts of power then we've nearly hit a ceiling in pure rasterisation. AI and upscaling is only getting better (the latest NVIDIA transformer model for upscaling is black magic) and frame generation is maturing too. Disappointing to read no 3d v-cache but I guess that's more of a PC thing as with an SoC like on a console where everything is unified you can design a different more general cache.

About the wackiest thing Kojima has said.

  • Makes game in space.
  • Game is about Earth.
  • Meets aliens interested in game content.
  • SETI jealous AF. First clear message "the dpad is used to walk forward, that's just a replica..."
  • Kojima dreams about making a game on Betelgeuse about Beetlejuice, gets lost somewhere near Neptune...

At some point surely Bethesda address their development process. Without anything to back it up and just IMO, surely it isn't financially viable to keep blowing out your development cycles to nearly 10 years. Sure a big name will sell regardless (GTA for example) but from the time you start development to the point it has released how many games have come and gone? How many of those progressed the genre? I assume I'm in the minority that didn't mind Starfield in the end, but many of the systems were dated while games with a typical 3-4 year development cycles came and went that moved the needle along. That's my fear with ES6. When did it really go into development? And then how dated will it be when it eventually releases? Since FO4 and ignoring 76 as it's more FO4 adjacent, we've had Starfield and hopefully ES6 next. But then? Is that it until FO5? If FO5 has only been greenlit now and it doesn't release for ~10 years (and that's not hyperbole) will it only be an iteration on what they've recently done which is already dated? Will Todd and the bulk of the current studio even be around by then?

Development times shouldn't be blowing out like this. Games are getting bigger and more complex but there are great tools that never used to exist that are meant to bring times down.
